Yes just as much as dollar is being used for illegal activities. What makes bitcoin so attractive for criminals is that it is very anonymous so nothing is able to trace back almost. This is why criminals buy weapons etc with it on the darkweb via tor no IP no trace to payments nothing just the stuff they ordered. Be careful there's alot of bad people into bitcoin aswell.

Not really that "anonymous" since if you know how to trace the taints and keep track of the addresses of where the coins went, you can associate such addresses to an organization, a group of people or a single person who were careless enough to leave traces of these addresses in the open.

Bitcoin serves as the safe haven for most criminal organizations because it is somewhat easier to hide unlike cash. But then again, you can trace those coins and even exchanges would raise a red flag if a huge amount was converted to cash due to AML regulations.

Are you sure safe using bitcoin for illegal acitivy so what you can buy with bitcoin "drugs,weed or what". in fact bitcoin only most use for gambling site so what a problem with that in some country, gambling isn't illegal.

yeah bitcoin is used for gambling but i think its not bitcoin fault because every currency can be used for illegal activity so  people can be use bitcoin in limit for illegal activity and fiat currency can be used for unlimited illegal activity so its mean bitcoin is too much better than other currency.

It was not a secret anymore, because indeed the bitcoin is a currency that most supports illegal activity. because anonymous bitcoin transactions implementing systems, so many mafia that utilize this. Yes ofcourse bitcoin is being used for illegal activities for example buying drugs and weapons thats alot of times that they do that.
I even see people hiring hitman for it so watchout bitcoin can drag you into heavy stuff dont go on dark marketplaces and deep web thats crazy stuff i see there and definitely not pegi13

whether it's bitcoin, gold, cash money, prepaid debit cards, people will use all these for not legal things. that's why governments have set up certain policies in order to push back the use of these tools for criminals. you can't even buy gold here without the store to scan your id. it's insane.

That is true that everything can be used for illegal activity. We cannot deny the fact that even the best of currencies are being used by people for illegal activities but there is nothing wrong in it. I mean if we are not using it for illegal activity then we don't have to worry or get upset that bitcoins are being used for any wrong activity.

Well news or media will make it bad as fast as they could. They just fail all the time. That is also one good thing when someone is not controlling it. Who will they charge against this dark methods? No one. No one claims bitcoin as theirs. It is one hell of a free currency.

May or may not be. May because no one can track it until or unless the person caught in time. May not because Bitcoin is not yet used at larger areas. And not accepted at stores. But if someone is caught using this for illegal purposes it may be baned by that country.

Does anyone know what happen with all those bitcoins stolen from Bitfinex? It could go to some illigal activities as terrorism or something. Today terrorists are equiped with money and technologies, so who knows, maybe it is exactly they did this big grab.

Bitcoin probably is being used in illegal activities, but not any more than any fiat currency.  That said, most to all governments make legality a gray area anyway, making it a very poor metric to go by.

This is one of the problem that terorist can use bitcoin to transact anonymously.. it can also give bad image for bitcoin thats why i think government still not accepting bitcoin and other company online..
