I bought just 1.8 ETH to try, sold 0.8 at a profit, and now have 1 ETH to hold. It does look promising, but that has been said about so many altcoins.

You have 1 whole ETH?  We got a balla here!
I know I should have gone in much bigger, but that's in retrospect. I just do small buys in altcoins, see how it turns out without risking a lot.

After the price consolidate here for a few months, you can buy a few more. Ethereum can rise a lot in the future.

A couple of options available here. Green is starting up in the final motive wave to find the mid term top (Midterm as in it could be weeks to a month or more of correction after this). Red is a suckers rally which will precede further decline. I won't try to call which, nor make a top call yet. I like green, personally.

Divergence in this current consolidation says up to mid 12's to 13 depending on the fomo to complete the 1 of (5). As yefi said, a break below .01 is still  in the cards and should be short lived.

The Ethereum price is quite volatile now. There is no clear trend. So it might be consolidating at the moment.

That would be because of the purpose of the bet: "Ethereum to top $1 billion market cap before 2017"

I've bet no. Grin

If it's anything like bets of bitcoin, the earlier you bet, the more weight you get if you win

Jesus, I'm glad I got in and out at like 0.0138.  Did not profit but I'm glad I didn't lose money--I'm definitely not as risk-averse as some of the gambler-traders around here.  I don't know how you guys do it, especially short sellers.  That takes balls of a different metal composition than I possess.

Or, you just don't ever put in more than you can afford to lose, like any sensible gambler shouldn't - then it's all good Wink

Ah, that makes sense now, thanks. Think I'll stick to trading, mind you - whole different set of rules to consider there Wink

In that case I think you'll lose money Wink ! Ethereum supply will ba at around 77 000 000 (or maybe this is the current Huh) and 1 ETH will be worth at least 0,03BTC. The price of Bitcoin will be at around 600$. 600x0,03=20$. 20x77000000=1,547 billion ! Also, note that I took quite low values. Even if the price would be lower, it would still be achieved Wink !

I am very happy if the Etherum price is 0.02 for the short term. In the long term, it could be 0.05 or a bit higher.

Ethereum is a trading platform. You can make smart contract there or issue new currency. It is not just a currency.

That is a very general suggestion. Where do you think the mouth is? Will that be Ethereum or the bitcoin?

Ethereum handling the pressure as a complete boss. Poloniex has over 7k BTC buy support and people still talking about being a "bubble". There's genuine interest in Ethereum and I'm sure it will explode even more during the year as news about new deals and app developments are released just as it happened with slock.it and Samsung. Get some under 0.01 now!

You can't just assume that this "support" is genuine. It is simple for someone who has sold all they want in the correction from .02 to take that profit and fill the bid side with orders, with no intention of letting them get hit. This is a manipulation tactic that costs nothing and gives a false sense of safety to those looking for their next entry. The masses pile in above these bids front running this "support", but in actuality, they are setting themselves up. Either bids are pulled and the front runners sold into, or they are just pushing the price up through the use of panic sheep to get to their next sell point.

Understand that I'm not saying this is what is happening, only that you can't just assume every order on the book is there to actually buy/sell. If the rules were changed to not allow the cancelling of orders within say 10% of spot, you would only see legitimate orders and the books may take on a vastly different appearance.
