I downloaded Verge Desktop Wallet for OSX from the official Verge Webiste vergecurrency.com, version 3.0

installed the dmg, started it but it is version: v2.1.0.0-8addc5d-beta and it does not connect to the network. Is just the version number wrong the wallet or are the wrong files in the 3.0 folder on Github ?

I downloaded the verge blockchain dated december 23, copied it to the Verge folder but can't see anywhere in the wallet it is syncing with the files on the hard drive...

after a few restart of the wallets it has connection to network. Version is still not 3.0 when you check with getinfo

I have the same v2.1.0 doesn't look like 3.0 is  up yet.

I'm a reasonably mature chap (age wise), relatively new to cc (three months), however at times people need to sit back and think before making hasty unwise decisions. Quite obviously Verge is going to be a major player in 2018, regardless of what the 'internet' says or does, the concept of Verge and its soon to be released unique ability, via Wraith (with smart contracts and atomic swaps to follow) will make Verge a must own coin.

For the record I own 500,000 bought at 0.005c (not sure what this was in satoshi's at the time). I could have sold at 0.28c, but I didn't. I could have had a 5600% return in less than three months, but I didn't. Do you know why? Because in the next twelve months I expect the cost per coin to be far in excess of 0.28c each, I'm not going to go and try and second guess daily moves on the market, I don't have to, I just have to HODL.

For information purposes, when I decided to invest in CC's, the only research I performed was going through the coinmarketcap top 100 list, removed anything that was pre-mined or vastly over priced and had a look at the use/potential of everything left on the list. Took me less than an hour.

Verge stood out a mile, even to a relative noob like me.
