The upcoming development looks promising. I have to say that Krypton grow a little bit each day, but soon it will become a fully fledged dapp platform. It just needs some time to make it a very usable crypto. Speaking of which, I wonder how Krypton will stand in the next few years against ETH and other clones? I can't imagine when KR's prices hit at least $1 very soon. This will hopefully come when the people realize the true potential of this coin. Also, we might see a huge interest in developing dapps if this gets far.  Cheesy

I was supposed to ask for android wallet, I was half asleep when I made the last post.

Android wallet IS even more important than web wallet, because android wallets will be more useful in a financial crisis.

We even need to ensure that PAPER WALLETS are functional.

It's time to begin staffing Krypton's S.C./Daaps Development Team.

If you're a smart contract or distributed app developer, please join Krypton's slack and PM me.

http://slack.krypton.rocks

Just getting started coding Daaps and smart contracts? To learn more visit this Krypton Trello card for some 'getting started' links.

https://trello.com/c/sTrt8q0f

###

What is a Dapp?

A Decentralized Application (or 'Dapp') is a piece of software consisting of a user interface (UI) and a decentralized backend; typically making use of a blockchain and smart contracts.

For examples of Daaps running on Ethereum visit: http://dapps.ethercasts.com/

There are currently 231 Daaps, in various stages of development, on the Ethereum network. Don't be discouraged by this. Krypton can do the same thing as Ethereum and host similar Daaps on the KR blockchain. We've only just begun.

###

Looking Forward

Once Krypton has more S.C./Daaps devs onboard and some sample Daaps on our chain, Krypton will be ready to market to projects and companies looking for coders in this field.

Growing Krypton into a S.C./Daaps development firm will take some time and will not happen overnight, just as Ethereum was not built overnight.

Krypton will be specifically focused on developing custom Daaps for business systems and the Internet of Things.

Experts estimate that the IoT will consist of almost 50 billion objects by 2020. That's a lot of devices to code for!

To read more about the IoT and find out why this field is so exciting, I invite you to read this excellent white paper (pdf) from CISCO:

The Internet of Things: How the Next Evolution of the Internet Is Changing Everything: http://www.cisco.com/c/dam/en_us/about/ac79/docs/innov/IoT_IBSG_0411FINAL.pdf

This article from The Economist does an excellent job of explaining why smart systems will disrupt lots of industries, and perhaps the entire economy:

http://www.economist.com/node/17388392

Here's their summary:

It is difficult to say what effect all this will have on business and the economy. But three trends stand out. First, since smart systems provide better information, they should lead to improved pricing and allocation of resources. Second, the integration of the virtual and the real will speed up the shift from physical goods to services that has been going on for some time. This also means that more and more things will be hired instead of bought. Third, economic value, having migrated from goods to services, will now increasingly move to data and the algorithms used to analyse them. In fact, data, and the knowledge extracted from them, may even be on their way to becoming a factor of production in their own right, just like land, labor and capital. That will make companies and governments increasingly protective of their data assets.

###

Bottom Line

Companies are always looking for ways to increase productivity. Developing custom distributed applications is an excellent means to do this. Much of the reason why companies have not already done this is that Smart Contracts and Distributed Apps developers are in short supply. The industry is too new.

With some volunteer Daaps devs already onboard, and more coming as I can find work for them, Krypton is well-positioned to enter this market as a development firm.

Developers, want your work to stand out instead of getting lost in a sea of ETH Daaps? Join the Krypton Dev Team today. Let's go to work.

"daaps for beginners?" - I hope you're not referring to Team Krypton.

I have experienced daaps devs already onboard, as volunteers. Some of them are already working to build the "Developing" section of Krypton's Roadmap.  https://trello.com/b/JmmF7y7A/krypton

Krypton's lead dev, Krypton_Dev, is a JAVA guru and quite experienced in this field. Unfortunately, like the rest of us, he works a real job.

Krypton does not have the development funds of ETH but, we have talent.

As we have time, we will build some sample dapps and smart contracts and release them for you to see.

Right now, I'm looking to hire more experienced s.c. and daaps devs.

Once Krypton has a nice pool of volunteer devs that I can draw from, I will be able to sell our services to companies and projects who will pay.

proposed one-click wallet install for Krypton wallets - https://github.com/kvhnuke/etherwallet

I've fallen in love with a one-click install, open source, ETH wallet and want to build the same front-end for Krypton.

Some major features include: backup of keystore and the ability to create paper wallets.

I've decided to release the Krypton QT Linux Wallet and instructions, as-is, rather than wait for this one-click to be coded. Most Linux users should be fine with this.

The one-click install will be built for Windows, Mac and Linux wallets. - https://trello.com/c/aQhKB75J

###

Krypton QT Linux Wallet - Beta Released - Install Instructions

(1) download Linux wallet from :

https://mega.nz/#!qE5nlSKD!YLqzVwC9tEDRgGWTrdow5_XiKJ2CQv_J0_Mccrk8fmk

(2) from terminal, type these instructions:

chmod 775 krypton-qt
chmod +x krypton-qt
sudo apt-get install QtQuick

(3) start GKR

If you haven't already, compile GKR from this source: https://bitbucket.org/gkrypto/go-krypton/

Building GKR requires two external dependencies, Go and GMP. You can install them using your favorite package manager.

Once the dependencies are installed, run:

chmod +x build/*
make gkr

To start GKR run:

build/bin/gkr

(4) Now you can open your Krypton QT Linux Wallet from the Linux gui by double clicking the file, krypton-qt.

*This process will be cleaned up with the proposed one-click wallet front-end (see above.)

Thank you, @paolo77, for compiling this KR QT Linux Wallet. Cool

Dear users,

Dagger-Hashimoto is now fully supported on NiceHash - you can rent Dagger-Hashimoto hashing power to mine Krypton. Please note that pools have to be slightly updated, see also this Forum thread: https://forum.ethereum.org/discussion/7369/dagger-hashimoto-added-to-nicehash

Keep on hashing!

Best regards,

Some people in the Krypton Community have been busy submitting KR for listing on other exchanges.  Shocked

Though I would like to grow Krypton more before joining more exchanges, I realize that everyone has a favorite place to trade and that I cannot stop KR from being submitted there, nor would I want to. Smiley

Here is a quick recap of where KR is being voted for addition and where only your tweets will help:

Please vote for KR to be added to these exchanges:

C-cex - https://c-cex.com/?id=vote

Cryptopia - https://www.cryptopia.co.nz/Vote

KR has open support tickets to be added to these exchanges:

Poloniex - Tweet to @Poloniex - https://twitter.com/Poloniex - "@Poloniex, please add #Krypton, $KR"

Bleutrade - Tweet to @BLEUTRADE - https://twitter.com/BLEUTRADE - "@BLEUTRADE, please add #Krypton, $KR"

KR's Chinese PR manager, z38630610, is working to have KR listed on the following Chinese exchanges:

http://www.btc38.com/

www.btc567.com

http://www.jubi.com/

www.huobi.com

http://www.coinvc.com (like Poloniex. reviewing KR.)

https://yunbi.com

http://jubi.com/

https://www.okcoin.cn/about/land.do?channelId=3100

KR currently trades on:

Bittrex - https://bittrex.com/Market/Index?MarketName=BTC-KR

Yobit - https://yobit.net/en/trade/KR/BTC

If you would like to trade KR on any other exchanges, please ask for them in Krypton's slack: http://slack.krypton.rocks

Thank you, Krypton Community. You rock! Cool
