Actually May 18 2010 the price wasn't in the single digit at all, it was way less than 1$; the pizza is setting the price at 30$/10,000=0.003$

Mtgox only appeared 2months after and you could get a bitcoin for 4cents, it seems overvalued for most at the time

EDIT
Quote
10,000... Thats quite a bit.. you could sell those on https://www.bitcoinmarket.com/ for $41USD right now..

This has gotta be the most famous and expensive pizza in the world history. If there are any details still available for this pizza, we should create a wax replica for Madame Tussaud Museum

You can find the transaction and the pics of the pizza here.

I spent it all on pizza long ago:  https://blockchain.info/address/1XPTgDRhN8RFnzniWCddobD9iKZatrvH4

3-4 years ago there were less than 100 people frequenting this forum, and I was pretty happy to trade 10,000 coins for pizza.  I mean people can say I'm stupid, but it was a great deal at the time.  I don't think anyone could have known it would take off like this. Smiley

Pics are still in the same location for anyone interested.  I didn't trade bitcoins for the child - she's my daughter, Amy.  Only the pizza was traded.
