true...if you are gambling just because of what you may win and investing your money to it then you are really sick..IMO, if gambling could affect your life and could ruin your family life, then it is a sickness..

you got the first part wrong, i think if someone is in control of his gambling habits meaning that he can manage the money that he is spending on gambling (gambling limited with small amount) then it is not an addiction but a wise choice of actions.

Lol being addicted to gambling is a sickness and yeah luck affect gamblers too especially when they thought that they just had bad luck whenever they and tried another time to test their luck and do it again and again. And they finally became addicted to gambling without them even knowing.

yeah I agree with you I often meet and be friends with someone of players who gamble just to make fun he came out and went gambling with ease. without the compulsion to continue gambling if he does not want to gamble then he is not gambling. and when he had no money of course he's not going to gamble. unlike the addict who always impose to continue to gamble.

Unfortunately, most of the gamblers can be grouped into the "first" player you said. Many gamblers are those who cannot control themselves in gambling. Most of them actually thinks that they have control over themselves but in reality, they don't. After gambling and losing a bit, they'd go like "I'll just gamble a few more so I can win back my loss" and continue on and on until they have nothing left.

I only gamble when I am feeling bored or want to wind down after a long week of work. I do most of my bets during the weekend when a lot of the higher leagues football games are happening. Gambling can be a recreational thing if done right and not be a sickness as you say. I bet small amounts and have fun every time no matter if I am losing or winning.

When you are suffering by gambling addictions, you are making losses to your wealth as well as mental health. When there is a problem for our waelth or to mental health then it will reflect in our day-to-day life, which is more dangerous. The root cause is addiction which is must be a sickness.
