Gambling should be considered as a Sickness!!

Gambling is not a sickness and it never will be a sickness, you can just blame the person self that is gambling, its his own problem in my eyes.
I think its not a sickness and that addicts can stop gambling but they do not want it...

Nope, its considered sickness needs cure then gambling addiction too. How can they/we stop gambling if they cant?

Then probably you are a sick gambler if you can't control your self anymore, you will need the assistance of those person who cares about you and some professional to handle your addiction...gambling is not sickness, but the gambler sometimes is sick...

When something makes you not to be leading a normal life then it means you are affected by the some disease. Exactly we can say, due to the sickness you are not into your normal life. This is very much similarly happening with gambling so nothing is wrong in calling gambling as a sickness.

I agree that it is hard to stop gambling once your addicted to it but it all depends to a person. If one is honest to himself then he would admit that he is addicted, it all start with acceptance, if you already accept then you would listen to your friends and families advices they you can get away with it. If you are fully treated then it would be easy for you to resist gambling again.

A sickness? Gambling is a habit, not a disease. If you consider all addictions a disease, almost EVERYBODY would be considered sick and ill. Think about what you're addicted to in life. What increases your dopamine levels?

That habit will eventually turn into sickness if you cannot handle the stress that gambling brings. It is normal to people to get addicted once they do gambling in a repetitive manner. You get used to gambling if you do it regularly, the effect would be negative if you cannot handle your emotions.

Actually your right, It depends on the people who are addicted then you can say that it's a sickness for them. It's not the gambling it's the gambler.
If the guy is on proper mind set and can control their selves, it's hard to say that they are sick.
There are some behavior to be considered before they can be considered as sick.

Well atleast, in gambling, the money is not just going out of your pocket, there are times that it goes back to you with more than many folds...It will make a gambler sick if he is abusing it..

yah some people gamble for the sake of joy and they are ok with losing. of course they want to win, but they know how well not to over exert themselves. and they knew they always have a chance to gamble again.

But those can be prevent by environment and their own family if they are still want to recover addicted gamble into normal.
I'm also had my neighbour (bad gambler) that commit to suicide after he gamble his money all and he couldn't pay house debt !

Well it is really hard to let go of addictness in gambling. It already became vices of others so that if they lose, they became deppress and do that it is not really not to do.

To some extent you are right. since for some people gambling is a sickness and they get sick to early, losing their patience and control. But to the most of us it is a game and with that everything i said.

That's true you if you are addicted you will find ways to gamble and may even sell your precious things if you don't have enough money to gamble. Because you always want the excitement you get from gambling then you will never notice that you already become bankrupt. If that will happen to you then I would say you have a gambling sickness.
