If you consider gambling a sickness and you want to ban it, then you should think the same for alcohol, cigarettes, even using the internet, everything can potentially be really addictive and damaging, so if you want to ban something because "it's addictive", first think about all the stuff that should be banned for the same reason.

we are dealing with gambling problem so we can't address it as a sickness because if does we can simply get a doctors prescription and buy some drugs to cure it, but it is a problem inside persons mind that needed extra treatment it can be removed if the person really wanted to move away just needs some extra look on it especially with the help of your family and friends giving some enough time to other things that can make your mind busy to stop thinking about gambling.

A person who would ask to ban gambling is very desperate that what happen to him will not happen to others, but let us consider that facts here. You are only talking of some, and some for me does not mean majority.. You can't consider gambling a sickness. If you consider gambling a sickness, like I said before, you have by definition extrapolated every activity that can potentially be addictive to be a sickness. As you can see, playing videogames would be considered a sickness by your definition.

I believe the main risk group for gambling addiction is lonely, depressed people who don't have any interesting activities in life, such people usually become addicted to drugs, booze or any other things. People with healthy relationships, lots of friends and hobbies usually have much better self-control and don't become gambling addicts.
