So i think it is pretty obvious now that there are NO Engineers or work being done by BFL

1)They have outsourced the lot
2) Their key role is purely Sales
3) Maybe some assembly but thats it!

I don't quite understand your point. When you need (more) engineering expertise, but you don't need any (more) full time engineers, you...outsource.

Is there something wrong with that?

The whole technical thing is outsourced...they are a marketing company

Hey as i said b4 no big deal has been done to death and is part of standard supply chains of business

Just good to have clarity on who/what BFL are so that people can then make the correct informed  decisions on who they are dealing with

Inaba stood on his podium not long ago and told us all how he had basically designed the damn things, had made great achievements in ASICs. Now, not so true.

As I said back then and still do today, they paid someone else to do all the hard work. They just basically pointed out the specs sheet and discussed the main bullet points as far as I am concerned.

Poor guy didn't even know when the ASICs were coming out of the Fabbing Oven.

-------------------------

Just now, on the BFL forums he went to fly somewhere to find out in person how the whole thing is going. You could say he was just a glorified phone call/email assistant and an attendant at the door coordinating the incoming boxes of new parts.

Sorry to make it sound harsh, but that is how I see it.

P.S. I very highly doubt BFL_Jody was talking about BFL_Josh as the engineer who didn't call her with an update. She meant the "real engineers". You know, the people who are actually making it. (IMO and "Speculation")

+1

Agreed

All hail the mighty ignore list, silencer of dissention, censor of questions, ensurer of the one true path.

You forgot "starver of trolls"

I don't think it functions very well in that regard.

Seems to have starved CharlieContent for a bit.

*1,000 new posts from her starting in 3..2...1....*

Hahaha. Speak of the devil eh?

I wouldn't call myself a troll. If it makes you feel better about being humiliated by me to label me one then go ahead. I've noticed a trend on these forums for people to label those with a contrary opinion to themselves "a troll". Usually how it works is the more stupid the opinion, the more likely they are to call you out for "trolling" when you disagree. It's like these people have never been questioned by anyone before, and anyone who disagrees with them must be doing it to bully them somehow. It's probably the case that no one has actually questioned them before, as they are unlikely to hold any position of responsibility or influence. I mean there's only one way to make a big mac, right?

Has anyone checked out Korbman's "investment company" website in his sig? For some dumb reason I thought he might actually be involved in real world investing (I know, I know)

It's pretty funny, here's a quote:

Quote from: Korbman
As an investor and financial enthusiast, I'm sometimes asked what I am I passionate about. I often respond with the philosophical answer of "The Future". Why? Because that's where everything is. That's where we're going.

Wow, what a visionary.

And what is this great visionary venture capitalist's main investment?

Quote from: Korbman
I've completed the purchase of eight [4] Butterfly Labs Single SC devices, done in two batches of four each.

Warren Buffet must be terrified. Keep up the good work, Mr. Galt! Truly you are a captain of industry.

That sounds like extra incentive as much as anything.  Bitcoin opens up a whole new world of possibilities.

The question should be "what is art" and while there are a boatload of definitions, I'll just go with "It's in the eye of the beholder".

I think I heard that same story not too long ago...

Sorry if its a repeat i am 3 weeks old btc world and after extensive trolling and reading this is my "I invented a wheel" type of deal

I guess I was too subtle.

I was referring to the recent collapse of bASIC.  I believe they also outsourced almost everything, and did not have much in the way of in-house engineering expertise.

Outsourcing can work, but you absolutely have to stay on top of managing it and do your homework so that you can understand the effort you're managing.  It certainly bears more risk than using an in-house team.

Maybe.

I mostly use it so that browsing bitcointalk.org is safe for work. Posters who only seem to produce profanity laden posts? Well, welcome to my ignore list, you fucking foulmouthed cunts.

*sigh* I know, I should've bet on YipYip instead..vastly faster than CharlieContent on the keyboard, and as a bonus his posts are generally illegible given the poor grammar and sentence structure.

After ignoring both CharlieContent and YipYip, I find there's about 4 or 5 actual posts per page, especially within the past 20 pages Tongue
