@usao Agreed, I didn't expect them to make August, and it wouldn't surprise me if we get pushed into October like they originally told us and then moved the dates forward.  So I am not too concerned yet.

When did they originally "tell us" they would push into October?  I haven't seen that on the website, rather it said August from the July 1st update.
"Estimated delivery time: Starts from August and max delay is one month."
http://www.innosilicon.com/html/news/14.html

They "originally" said June/July on their March 30th announcement.
"Mass produced A4 ASIC/Miners will be available in June/July 2016 based on pre-order sequence."
http://www.innosilicon.com/html/news/13.html

The original inference was clear - early pre-orders would start in June and pre-order sequence would have later orders shipping in July.

You find yourself hoping that perhaps they've already made them and are "burning them in" in a big data hall for QC but LTC hash rate shows nothing interesting happening.

The first pre-order window they gave us was Sept-Oct.  Then they revised it a few weeks later roughly to say Aug-Sept.  So it appears to me their first estimate of ship dates was probably more accurate.

Speaking of hash rates, would it be reasonable to expect the hash rate to increase say 10x? Coz the A4 will not only be spun up by the pre-orders here but by the partners and their farms as well I'd imagine.....

There's currently ~ 3500GH of scrypt (using coinwarz as an estimator) composed primarily of LTC, DOGE and Viacoin.  That number is most likely a little low as not all coins are reporting on coinwarz.
http://www.coinwarz.com/cryptocurrency/?sha256hr=9460.00&sha256p=2600.00&sha256pc=0.1000&sha256c=false&scrypthr=5000000.00&scryptp=17000.00&scryptpc=0.0830&scryptc=true&x11hr=34400.00&x11p=600.00&x11pc=0.1000&x11c=false&keccakhr=1000.00&keccakp=600.00&keccakpc=0.1000&keccakc=false&quarkhr=20000.00&quarkp=600.00&quarkpc=0.1000&quarkc=false&groestlhr=45.00&groestlp=825.00&groestlpc=0.1000&groestlc=false&blake256hr=11.20&blake256p=600.00&blake256pc=0.1000&blake256c=false&neoscrypthr=400.00&neoscryptp=400.00&neoscryptpc=0.1000&neoscryptc=false&lyra2rev2hr=30.00&lyra2rev2p=600.00&lyra2rev2pc=0.1000&lyra2rev2c=false&cryptonighthr=1950.00&cryptonightp=750.00&cryptonightpc=0.1000&cryptonightc=false&ethashhr=108.00&ethashp=600.00&ethashpc=0.1000&ethashc=false&e=CEX.io

To double the entire existing scrypt network hashrate, at 280MH per A4 Dominator, Innosilicon would need to ship ~12,500 units.

when I started mining LTC in Nov 2014 the GH for LTC was 1169gh right now the gh is at this moment 1585gh....so that is a 26.25% increase since then. This was just AS the Titans started to hit
the LTC fold. Thus for Innsilicon to beat that they would have to ship at least the same amount of KNC Titans (more or less) to do the same. Supposedly 5k of Titans were shipped. In reality
we think it was more like 3.5k of such Titans were made at the most. Likely a lot less then that if you look at my calcs below.

If you delve deeper then that raise in GH is equivalent to 1,386 Titans (check my figures)....So imho the LTC may go up 25% BUT  they will have to kick a lot of A4's or equiv data halls to do so into the world to make the same kinda dent ...again check my calcs but how it seems to me at this point in time.

Haven't checked this in a while -- but I'm surprised this has not been labeled as a SCAM by now?

Feel sorry for the folks that actually wired money to these people -- but then again there were so many things not right about this "offering."

The biggest being that they only have cell-phone numbers in their supposed offices.  Doesn't anyone find that odd?

I'd been keen to make a trip to their offices and pay cash and pick up a few units face to face. I'd be able to check out of Shanghai at the same time. Maybe I'll email Chloe and suggest it and try my luck.

Can't hurt. If they are far enough along and not skittish about this. Ask if you can get a tour of production and some pictures they can give you pemission to take to post on the group buy
thread here...they may go for it ..if you can plug such for this thread to keep the natives less restless Smiley

Without knowing the number of A2s that were released during the same period of time, it's hard to allocate how much of the LTC hashrate was attributed to KNC Titan and the A2s.

We're relatively confident that there are no impending new chips from other manufacturers so any large increase in hashrate will be mostly A4s.  I'm assuming that big batch of KNC Titans released a few months ago are now online.

You need to make additional assumptions to get to a 25% increase for LTC with the release of the A4.  Being very generous, LTC is about 50% of the entire scrypt hashrate at this moment.  Sort on "Network Hashrate".
http://www.coinwarz.com/cryptocurrency/?sha256hr=9460.00&sha256p=2600.00&sha256pc=0.1000&sha256c=false&scrypthr=5000000.00&scryptp=17000.00&scryptpc=0.0830&scryptc=true&x11hr=34400.00&x11p=600.00&x11pc=0.1000&x11c=false&keccakhr=1000.00&keccakp=600.00&keccakpc=0.1000&keccakc=false&quarkhr=20000.00&quarkp=600.00&quarkpc=0.1000&quarkc=false&groestlhr=45.00&groestlp=825.00&groestlpc=0.1000&groestlc=false&blake256hr=11.20&blake256p=600.00&blake256pc=0.1000&blake256c=false&neoscrypthr=400.00&neoscryptp=400.00&neoscryptpc=0.1000&neoscryptc=false&lyra2rev2hr=30.00&lyra2rev2p=600.00&lyra2rev2pc=0.1000&lyra2rev2c=false&cryptonighthr=1950.00&cryptonightp=750.00&cryptonightpc=0.1000&cryptonightc=false&ethashhr=108.00&ethashp=600.00&ethashpc=0.1000&ethashc=false&e=CEX.io

So to increase the current hashrate of LTC by 25% from 1.92TH to 2.4TH, assume the same distribution across all other scrypt coins (50%/50%).

Therefore, to get a 25% increase in hashrate for LTC, you would need to increase the entire network hashrate by 2x of the new LTC hashrate which would be .48TH x 2 or .96 GH.

To summarize, Innosilicon would need to ship ~3400 units to increase the entire scrypt network hashrate by .96TH so 50% of that would go to LTC to increase the LTC hashrate overall by 25%.  Massive assumption because for the math to work out, all 3400 units would need to go online today.

Personally, I'd settle for a youtube video of just one full rig working, happily hashing away at 280MH, with a voice over talking about the most profitable miner in the world today.

The real concern imho is NOT IF there will be an A4 miner, but if they will get trapped in the same loop as most ASIC makers of scrypt and sha-256 and on pre-orders
USUALLY 2-3 months or even later getting them out as working units. There's the rub. The 90 day warranty under such conditions from past asic makers endeavors
are also a concern in that the software/firmware to get these up and 'tweaked' to pools always takes 2-3 months as well...so about the time you get them up and
'sorta' behaving your 90 warranty is running out. In the KNC Titan's case they did not even have a working firmware till after 3 months as a example. (They tried
to setup a 90 warranty but forgot to fix the web sales page..thus could not do so after the fact..then again they abandoned support after like 9 months anyway) Smiley

So the above risks are 'pre-order' risks just to be clear.....the law of 'unintended consequences" or in 'Engineer speak" "Sure it will all work just dandy out of the box. Smiley
or part is backlog'd or the masking on the die is wrong and a 3 month re-do ..that kinda fun stuff.

But folk on here know this and took that bet imho.

Old Style Legacy Plug & Play BBS System. Get it from www.synchro.net. Updated 1/1/2021. It also works with Windows 10 and likely 11 and allows 16 bit DOS game doors on the same Win 10 Machine in Multi-Node! Five Minute Install! Look it over it uninstalls just as fast, if you simply want to look it over. Freeware! Full BBS System! It is a frigging hoot!:)

thanks for the numbers. gives some hope to early buyers like us. but absence of a demo video is ruining all the hopes even for planned mid september delivery.

Without knowing the number of A2s that were released during the same period of time, it's hard to allocate how much of the LTC hashrate was attributed to KNC Titan and the A2s.

We're relatively confident that there are no impending new chips from other manufacturers so any large increase in hashrate will be mostly A4s.  I'm assuming that big batch of KNC Titans released a few months ago are now online.

You need to make additional assumptions to get to a 25% increase for LTC with the release of the A4.  Being very generous, LTC is about 50% of the entire scrypt hashrate at this moment.  Sort on "Network Hashrate".
http://www.coinwarz.com/cryptocurrency/?sha256hr=9460.00&sha256p=2600.00&sha256pc=0.1000&sha256c=false&scrypthr=5000000.00&scryptp=17000.00&scryptpc=0.0830&scryptc=true&x11hr=34400.00&x11p=600.00&x11pc=0.1000&x11c=false&keccakhr=1000.00&keccakp=600.00&keccakpc=0.1000&keccakc=false&quarkhr=20000.00&quarkp=600.00&quarkpc=0.1000&quarkc=false&groestlhr=45.00&groestlp=825.00&groestlpc=0.1000&groestlc=false&blake256hr=11.20&blake256p=600.00&blake256pc=0.1000&blake256c=false&neoscrypthr=400.00&neoscryptp=400.00&neoscryptpc=0.1000&neoscryptc=false&lyra2rev2hr=30.00&lyra2rev2p=600.00&lyra2rev2pc=0.1000&lyra2rev2c=false&cryptonighthr=1950.00&cryptonightp=750.00&cryptonightpc=0.1000&cryptonightc=false&ethashhr=108.00&ethashp=600.00&ethashpc=0.1000&ethashc=false&e=CEX.io

So to increase the current hashrate of LTC by 25% from 1.92TH to 2.4TH, assume the same distribution across all other scrypt coins (50%/50%).

Therefore, to get a 25% increase in hashrate for LTC, you would need to increase the entire network hashrate by 2x of the new LTC hashrate which would be .48TH x 2 or .96 GH.

To summarize, Innosilicon would need to ship ~3400 units to increase the entire scrypt network hashrate by .96TH so 50% of that would go to LTC to increase the LTC hashrate overall by 25%.  Massive assumption because for the math to work out, all 3400 units would need to go online today.

Personally, I'd settle for a youtube video of just one full rig working, happily hashing away at 280MH, with a voice over talking about the most profitable miner in the world today.

No worries - I needed to see the numbers myself.

I think Searing makes sense in that they likely will ship a defective miner, perhaps mid September, that will fulfill the letter of the law that they shipped on time.  Never mind that it won't work properly,  but it will "work".

Other than a bunch of well meaning emails, there is no written warranty in a PDF form, documented RMA process, performance guarantee (other than +/- 10% depending of 280MH) or even written purchase conditions that I've seen.

Innosilicon apparently can do whatever they want with the money they've been given for the early units.

Has anyone heard from Inno (Chloe) lately?
I would consider a positive factor if they still reply to email...

She replied with estimated delivery of mid to late September. First come first served approach.

I think you set up a sensible expectation of 30 Sept right? You're prob close to the mark there. +/- a wk or 2 on either side. (more likely one side than the other though).

Any one doing a group buy in Australia???

Ill be patient, till the end of Sept. I know other dates were mentioned by Inno, but at the time I made my order it was Aug+1Month, so that's what im basing my expectation on.
Naturally, if they provide another update before then, I may re-adjust my expectation.

I hope that we start getting shipping invoices soon though, since it will take at least 1 week to get to the US from China...
Being in Australia, you probably have less shipping charges than to the US. Since you travel quite a bit, have you thought about going to China or HK for pickup?
Forgive me for being politically incorrect. I  know that HK IS in China...
