Hey  this is a time saver for anyone that chooses to not flash a card.

It also saves you money  as you can buy any card with a stock bios and use this.

here is a 8gb rx 480 card new for 200 bucks free shipping to the usa.

http://www.diamondmultimediastore.com/index.php?route=checkout/cart

leave the bios alone set smOS to:

 1100

 1900 or 2000

 1 or    2 or 3

no time wasted for setup
no need to develop a bios.
card price is good 199.99

so while anyone that was making out with flashing bios building bios selling bios

they still can do this.

but the guy with a  pair of six card rigs with 3 or 4 different cards this is a game changer.

for me  I would need a bios for the:

 panda miner  rx 480 4gb ---- 8 cards
 the msi rx 480  8gb         ---- 8 cards
 the msi rx 470  8gb         ---- 2 cards
 the asus rx 480 4gb ---------- 5 cards
 the asus rx 480 8gb ---------- 3 cards

I now need none of the above and simply pay a fee to smOS

best of all if I choose to expand I simply find any good deal on any rx 480 8gb  like the 200 diamond multimedia that I linked to.

I have been able to tweak th panda miner's 6th gpu and get it to work at settings of 1145 2000 1

so now every gpu is stable at setting 1

gpu 6 is weird I will continue to look at it

I want to implement realtime chat (view only for all and wirting only for logged users)
Slack is separate website.
IRC hmm also separate, any thoughts what should i implement ?
Anybody know something free and good to webchating with multiple users ?
Opensource would be best, also must be in ajax (realtime updates).

I will look into it and if nothing will came up better then i will implement it.
Still thinking if separate window (tab) for chat wi good idea or should id implement something that ill be integrated into SMOS dashboard.
But still i cant pack all things into this dashboard Tongue

Also i am thinking should i allow wiring without logging.
There are trolls everywhere, so i am thinking ...... what you say guys ?

I think afraid of internet trolls is not worth it. The circle of communication in the chat of the miner of technically educated educated people ...
Though the mats will probably swear at times ... and who will not be able to control this ... Grin

Hey tytanick, one of my rigs I am going through re flashing.  I notice when I do reboot from ssh I get alot of green OK's and 1 red saying failed unmounting /tmp and the last ok I see is a green ok reached target shutdown, but it never shuts down.  I have to manually power the rig off and start it.  Odd thing is one of the other rigs, I just went through and re flashed and it never hung.  Not sure what the issue could be.

It could be many things. First that came up to my mind is when one of gpus will hang i can cause stop into some process.
Anyway to reboot you just need to press "reboot" button on dashboard it will execute magical reboot command which will basically do force hard reboot and any gpu freeze wont stop this.
Itr like you take down plug - its this hard Tongue (it even wont flush data to disk (which is some cases could be problematic for example doing this reboot while update is in progress Tongue

sudo /root/utils/force_reboot.sh

I don't think a web chat would be a bad idea
You'll have trolls everywhere no metter where you go or what chat you are in
Look a poloneix exchange. Trolls all the time in there

Just dropping a note of thanks to Tytanick for his smOS and SRR.

Today is a big day for me because, just completed SRR for all my rigs, housekeeping of rom mods for all rigs, standardized all USBs/SSDs, upgraded my old hubs to gigabit switches, cleanup the network cabling, etc.....  for the past week nearly 100% uptime daily and full speed 45K sol/s total hash for ZEC (3.6GH ETH, 115Khs XMR) - thanks to SRR keeping each rig alive.  I can say, my small farm is almost lights out operation now and I remotely manage the farm from home more often now. More time with family, more sleep time and working comfortably from home.

smOS and SRR are really a good combination and have generated me good income - hope we will see the best mining OS becoming even better with useful features to help miners be successful in mining. This is one of my best investment and ROI.

Also, would like to add a word of thanks to Eliovp for his amazing custom roms for my RX480s, R9-Nanos and Pandaminer.

If I provided you good and useful info or just a smile to your day, consider sending me merit points to further validate this Bitcointalk account ~ useful for future account recovery...

Congratz on your farm and setup Smiley Yep indeed SRR smOS together are something really solid.
