If your 1060 has Hynix brand memory, that is normal hashrate.
Samsung goes to 24-25-26mh/s Micron to 23-24mh/s
That dependancy is specific to 1050Ti and 1060.

Woah don't oversell the 1060.

Even with a Samsung memory, hashrate will most not likely reach anything more than 24 MH. Heck, even if you have a Samsunng P106-100 (mining edition GPU based on the 1060) it would be hardpressed to reach 25 MH. I mean feel free to prove me wrong with actual screenshots or videos but until then, it is common knowledge that 1060's can't reach 25 MH on Ethash.

1060 with samsung can reach 25.5+ MH/s without a problem. Here is the proof:

With stock setings it can get up to 23-24MH but power draw is @ 100%tdp, equal to 120w which i think it is not worth the extra electricity cost. but it has stupidly high fan temperatures stock with 84,85 degrees celsius.

I'm proving you wrong Smiley :

The trick is to have a good 1060 with Samsung memory which can keep up with +1000Mhz mem clock

and as I explained a few days ago:

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1575547.msg39103708#msg39103708

Using Nvidia Inspector to set "Force P2 state" from ON to OFF (switches it to P0 state=full power)

Then change Performance  from Optimal to Maximum.

How to check what memory type has my gpu? And what setting would you recommend?  I need power usage to be as  low as possible Cheesy

Download and run GPU-z, in the box where it says the type of memory, check what is in the brackets: example "GDDR5 (Samsung)"
picture: https://tpucdn.com/reviews/Zotac/GeForce_GTX_1060_Mini_3_GB/images/gpuz_oc.gif

Recommended settings that should work on ALL cards: Core clock +150,
Mem clock from +500 to +1000, depending on card (+500 should work on 99% of them).
TDP - 55% for minimum power usage and heat

Further increase in productivity, which also increases slightly the power draw:
Using Nvidia Inspector to set "Force P2 state" from ON to OFF (switches it to P0 state=full power)

Then change Performance  from Optimal to Maximum.

What's the consensus on the future of these?  W/zcash refusing to fork and ethereum about to POS, should I be ignoring my temptation of building more 1060 rigs?  What projects are you mining w/them?

They are great for both Zcash and for Etherium (only Micron/Samsung type), even Monero.
Mainly because of the very low power consumption which can be achieved.
The best example is the current market where the electricity price
is cruical to keep the boat floating.

I see many adds for people selling high power drawing cards like 1080ti,
Vegas and even rx580 due to inability to cover cost.
I rarely see 1060s for sale. Maybe after announcement
for 11xx gen chips they will start selling them, but right now they are
best choice to keep mining when times are difficult.

I cannot say how wise it is to buy 3 year old model just before the release
of new ones. But hey, they keep postponing it for an year now Wink

My guess is they will release them beginning of November, but due to
demand, they wil be available Feb-March.

Tried to search on different topics and blogs and couldn't find the exact results.

So, what is the hashrate of GTX 1060 on different algos? Especially on Ether.
Good day sir,

I just want to share my research also,  for Nvidia GeForce GTX 1060 Profitability and Payback.

Coin:Ethereum
Coin value:$483.59
Electricity cost:$0.31/d
Revenue:$0.81/d

Well, that depends on your cards quality and setup.
Even if your cards are good, PSU voltage delivery is smooth
and overprovisioned, cables are dead cold, temps are low enough,
there is still a high dose of luck needed.

After all, GPU stands for Graphic Processing Unit.
I have a 1060 which is perfect for gaming.
However something is wrong with it and it makes 5mh/s only, regardless of the settings.
While In games it hits crazy amount of frames for a 1060.

+-1Mhs will not make you rich. It is more important to have
a stable rig, for which you only care to check once a month or a week.
So be happy with what you have and mine on! Smiley

Greetings friends, what are you suggesting, which altcoins to mine now?, ie what do you currently mine?  With my calculations  the bear period will last like a year approximately 300 days... Undecided

1060 6GB, Samsung. Ubuntu 18.04 LTS 390 Nvidia. Dstm miner. +135 core +100 mem.

301 Sol/s at 80 watts. That is very respectable performance. I no longer buy 1050 ti. 1060 is my new bottom-end GPU.

1060 is a great GPU for mining unless you want ethash performance.

The strenght of 1060 is not the hashrate, it's the low power consumption per mh/s.

Any 1060 can keep up with +150 core and +500 mem
