Is there mecanism in place to block miners from botnet?
Naughty! Lets also add a speed limiter, 500 kHz max. regardless of cpu power. Wouldn't stop people from mining on multiple computers or launching multiple times the app on the same computer :/ Crap I forgot that one. POW is sadly only for big players nothing new there, time to shut down my wallet.

Is there mecanism in place to block miners from botnet?
As it currently stands, anyone wanting to botnet this coin would have two options: Modify and recompile the code to remove the GUI and run in the background Write a compatible miner, and modify the PascalCoin code to act like a pool It'd be a lot easier to just modify PascalCoin to enable RPC functionality, and write a GPU miner.

Or, if not a standard, a website explaining a well known RPC functions for cryptocurrency. Thanks

PascalCoin is the first crypto currency without need of historical operations to control double spend and with ORDINAL account numbers. YES! LIKE A BANK!

So, I just did all the naming and stuff recommended, but that doesn't have any affect on the work that I did previously, I imagine. One is still credited? It's just odd now because it's about 24 hours and not seeing anything that looks like progress on the screen, which is odd for mining. Usually one knows exactly what one is earning, even if it's barely nothing.
I think it helps a coin to grow for the thread to encourage the newbies that are attracted to it. I realize that it's not particularly self-interest but then maybe it is.
You can see your hashes next to the mining speed. I think average takes 200k~ for a block at this diff. Yes, I just see zero blocks going on about 24 hours, which I am ok with, I really am new so I'm not sure what this will turn out to be. I am not sure what you mean, by average takes "200k~ for a block at this diff. " Around how many coins when I first get a block, 200K?

https://en.bitcoin.it/wiki/Original_Bitcoin_client/API_calls_listYou will need at least: getaccount getaccountaddress getbalance getblock getblocktemplate getinfo getnewaddress gettransaction sendtoaddress and probably some more. Is there mecanism in place to block miners from botnet?

Mmmmmmmmmmmm I couldn't even get the dang IDE to compile the code with (latest release of RAD Studio doesn't work!), much less actually make any modifications A GPU would probably be faster than the entire network currently. The network itself is hovering around 200 MH/s-ish, and a decent GPU could probably pull 800+ MH/s.

There is no current documentation on GPU miners on Pascal. We need some greybeards in this thread haha

There are OpenCL bindings for Delphi, but there'd be no need to use them.

IMHO, we should get away from this idea as we want this coin to be as accessible as possible to the joe miner with a household/at home computer. Otherwise, mining farm would get most the reward... What is your thought on this?

What is your thought on this? Not having a public GPU miner doesn't mean people aren't GPU mining, it just means that a select few have an unreasonably significant advantage over the entire remainder of the network. To throw some numbers around, one high-end GPU could probably quadruple the entire network's current hash rate. This means that if someone wanted to attack the network, they just need to write a GPU miner and run it on a ~$150 card.

This means that if someone wanted to attack the network, they just need to write a GPU miner and run it on a ~$150 card. in other words, the more optimized the network mining is, the less chance of an attack from a high hashrate entity. the problem is the monopoly of optimized mining.

Very funny, well, then you could answer the questions that Joe Miner poses in this thread It is kind of interesting have a bird's eye view of these alt coins trying to take off. You expect only uber geeks to understand what's going on, and only a small percentage of people will bother answering questions.

Most don't know what's going on. They just want GPU mining because they likely have a few or a bunch of GPUs. Once it becomes to hard to CPU mine, if it ever does, I am sure the dev will create an instance for GPU mining. At this stage CPU is still fine. A few months down the road though who knows. I like the concept, enjoy helping the network and collecting coins. Be it with CPU or eventually GPU. Still looking to buy more coins as well in case people don't check the buy and sell thread back on page 22. Still paying .000015 BTC per Pascal coin. Must have proof of coins in your wallet.

Would be nice if we could rearranged accounts by number of coins and not only in number order. (Private keys and all accounts)

I just think this whole interface is completely user unfriendly. One has to be very knowledgeable about mining for the miner to make sense, but it's exactly what people need today, a standalone CPU software browser in Windows.

I miss when crypto was about decentralisation.

I agree. The wallet isn't very simplistic and generally doesn't look very appealing.

Crypto was created to liberate the individual. Decentralisation matters.
