Although I just registered today:
  • I've been aware of bitcoin for about three years
  • I've lurked around a few forums for some time
  • I have a proficient understanding of a number of IT areas, generally
  • I have a comfortable level of knowledge of bitcoin's design goals and purposes, though I am not yet skilled enough to review the source code (hoping to change that in the future)
  • I'd like to discuss DiabloD3's recent changes to diablominer in the mining forum in the appropriate thread dedicated to that app
  • I appreciate the newbie rules in the fight against spamming, but request a whitelisting nevertheless.

I've been following bitcoin for a bit, I've been slowly gambling (and actually making a small amount of money with it, dollars though, nothing major) on bitcoinduit and bidonbitcoins. I just bought my first shares on GLBSE today (Two shares of BDK). And the newbie restrictions have twice pushed me to decide not to register, but I finally decided that it was a good enough idea to do. I'm generally quiet and probably won't use the forums to post too much (although it's a great resource for support), however I'd still love to be unlocked without making  training wheel posts and even more quietly lurking.

My first bitcoin transaction was from the faucet on 3/28/11 receiving 0.05 bitcoins, I have since gathered ~200 transactions, though mostly small ones. Even if I don't get let out early, I'm still 20% of the way closer I figure  Smiley

Hello

I know how does the Bitcoin system work.

I registered here, because I have some questions about developing a simple application using the bitcoinj library.

Please get me whitelisted!   Smiley

Thanks,

Please let me out! Smiley  I'm trying to develop a payment solution for a friend's business and need assistance setting up Paysius.  I've done a significant amount of research on bitcoin, the blockchain, SHA256 algorithms, and mining setups.  I'm trying to find super cheap ATI Radeon 5xxx or 6xxx series to make a cheap mining rig, because I want more bitcoins!  I currently participate in slush's pool with a Radeon 4600 series and get around 30 MHash/s with flags -w 32 -f 0.

I'm legit.

I NEED to be whitelisted. I have an urgent issue with my bitcoin client and wallet that requires immediate technical help. no one in the newbies forum can help me. my client crashes and i cannot find any reasonable or understandable guides to exporting my private keys from my bitcoin-qt wallet. requested a whitelist a week ago and would REALLY like to be able to ask my technical help question in the technical help forum. i dont have any more hours to sit on this forum and waste time so that someone with helpful information will listen to me.

thanks for your help

Hello,

I am an experienced bitcoiner looking for reliable ways to convert to USD.  I read good things about get-bitcoin.com so decided to use them.  I put in a few transactions a week ago and am still trying to get my money (about $4000) back.  Needless to say with their guaranteed 24 hour turnaround I'm pretty disappointed, but at this point just want to get my money back.  I would really like to be able to make a post in the get-bitcoin.com review thread at https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=34812.0

I'm not looking to bad-mouth or spam anyone... I don't think they dispute the fact that I sent them the bitcoins... I just would like my money back.  I am a small business owner and this is pretty crippling.

Please, please help.  I'll provide my login to their support forums and whatever other account information you would like to verify the transactions.

Thank you.

OK, I wanted to be able to post to this forum, so here goes.

I've known about bitcoins now for a little less than a year.  I have downloaded the wallet and every time I see there is a version with a security hole I download the newer version.  I've looked into mining, but was put off by the cost of the video cards and electricity, and the fact that the difficulty seems to increase over time, even if it goes down temporarily.

So instead, I found sealswithclubs.eu and I used their hourly freerolls and half hour money addeds to create my own bitcoin bankroll.  I've won about 96 bitcoins so far.  How have I contributed to the economy?  Well one thing I did was I paid a loan off to an old friend with 28 bitcoins (I owed him $140).  I like the fact that bitcoin sticks it to the man and I like knowing about things before other people do.  I wonder what will happen when the block reward drops from 50 to 25 bitcoins.

Does that prove I know more than the newbie?

I already have an account here for shooting the breeze, I would like to be whitelisted because I'm about to start selling euro-style strategy board games for bitcoins and want to start assessing interest and *hopefully* queueing up some orders.

-bgc

I'm selling great Minion Games like The Manhattan Project, Kingdom of Solomon and Venture Forth at 4% off retail starting June 2012. PM me or go to my thread in the Marketplace if you're interested.

For Settlers/Dominion/Carcassone etc., I do email gift cards on Amazon for a 5% fee. PM if you're interested.

I have been mining bitcoins for a year now and I have been reading the forums since then. There are occasions that I need to report problems on the pools that I am using. It would be great if I can be whitelisted.

I'd like to contribute to the various "proof of work vs. proof of stake" threads, in particular with the contribution I've currently placed in this newbie ghetto area: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=82843.msg912847#msg912847 I'd love to draw these thoughts to the attention of the currently active proof of stake folk, and hear their thoughts and opinions!
