Grin I guess this is post one.
Bitcoin mining is now a specialized and very risky industry, just like gold mining. Amateur miners are unlikely to make much money, and may even lose money. Bitcoin is much more than just mining, though!

They've prevented me from posting in threads I wanted to and delayed my starting to interact with the forum. I guess I'm not part of the target audience for inconvenience though.

I should have five posts and 4 hours, but still can't reply to threads outside of here? I just want to leave feedback for a solid member here.

edit: nevermind, i guess you need six posts?

I'm afraid I have to correct myself: the 5 (or6) posts are totally ok, but the 4hours are a pain in the ass  Huh
There are issues that I really want to answer to but I guess have to wait and wait and wait...

OK, this is not cool, I consider myself not a newbie on the I-net, but hey, I;m new in the bitmining business...

This is the first post of 5! I was so curious if my GPU finds the block would I receive more ?

Phew, just found out about the 5 post rule instead of 50 Smiley
The 50 posts rule would have been impossible for me since I am more of a lurker.

I really don't like these rules, but I think they are needed because of the spambots.

I can understand "why" this is done, but seriously. Give me a pass on the newbie BS. I'm a 34 yr old career IT pro who was building message boards when most of you were surfing AOL (no offense, I used it too).

I think I've earned my medals, scars and what not without having to be subject to a "grace period". lol

The rest of you hooligans, however, need to stay here and read the forums rules and ETIQUETTE posts.
And get off my lawn. That is all.

This counts as a post, right?  o.0

Well, fair enough.
Does it really help, though?
Spam a few messages here and there, and you're good to go...

This is an odd policy - I ought to start a thread "introduce yourself here five times". I also noted there is no email verification on the site. Alternately, send .001BTC low priority to the forum to be a full member (i.e. If you can get a bitfaucet payment and send it to the forum, you're not a retard), but that's probably not something easy to add to simple machines forum.

This seems well and good, although slightly tedious to force oneself to make posts in such a limited sub-forum.
