I vote for this process to allow for a secret password. Like "open sesame" to allow for bypassing this newbie section.

Dear Moderator,

Some excellent secure rules for new users I see. Better to have a lot of aggression in security than chaos. I wish to take part in some discussions here, can I get my permissions level elevated to do such?

Very sensible. Does the Technical Support Forum get trolled a lot? If not it would be handy to have it open.

+1 couldnt agree more !

+1! also agree!

very fair rules though Smiley

I know this is true but I would like to gain access to the technical support forum.

I think we're allowed to make meaningful posts if we want to.

But I can't prove it  Grin

I thought this idea was a good one, but it's obvious it doesn't stop trolls and idiots from shitting up the forums.

Want a real way to solve the issue? Make people pay to play, or find a way to verify that people are actually using or involved with bitcoins.

Thx

Right now it just takes time/effort to get around the restrictions. If anything the trolls have proven that they have nothing bit time on their hands, probably more so than actual people. A small BTC fee (maybe just a few bitcents) would keep out people who aren't using bitcoins, or at least make the trolls download the client and get some coins. Maybe a few will get interested for real when they do Grin

For me it seems pretty useless against trolls. However, I believe the deal was not about trolls but about one-minute visitors. Those who get in, register to one of trashbox-like emails, post some crap and leave to never get back.

are posts and replies able to be read by everyone?
Yes. If you are able to post somewhere, it will appear immediately to everyone once you post it.

Due to a mass of trolling, only established posters are able to post in non-newbie sections. You are considered "established" if you have spent 4 hours online and have made 5 posts.

If you have really good posts, you can post a request for preemptive whitelisting in the appropriate topic.

Also:
- You must have made one post in order to send PMs.
- You need 10 posts to put a link in your signature.
- You need 50 posts to put an image in your signature.

Note that it may take up to 10 minutes for your PM or posting permissions to be granted.
This is my first post, just need 4 more and some hours online... nice thread about that 25,000 stolen.
