ZCoin isn't an "opportunity", it's one of the most advanced cryptocurrencies ever released, built upon rock-solid technology. Did you read the Zerocoin protocol whitepaper? Do you even know what a zero-knowledge proof is?  All I can see here it's a vocal minority of minus habens spreading FUD and misinformation that don't have the foggiest idea of all the benefits that truly anonymous cryptocurrencies can bring to everybody.

Yeah especially since most of us never use our Celerons for CPU mining ever. And they almost use no power what so ever.

Maybe zcash it's not original sice zcoin was released early. And it's 1.5 years development old.
Zcash is a fork of zcoin. Since zcoin is out and real, zcash is still in testnet.

ah didn't know about this, so zcoin was actually the first one? i remember that at the beginning it was going to be a part of the bitcoin blockchain, then they made it separate

dev branch

http://i.imgur.com/OAQLdDv.png

so..waiting  Wink

Wallet reindexing issue fixed?
reindexing block after restart again.Or only for me?
Today download from Github..

I compiled the dev branch version of zcoind and started it on an old low performance laptop (where I already had the former version of zcoind running and the blockchain synced).
It started in approximately 3 minutes and besides "Verifying last 288 blocks at level 3" had no delay.

From debug.log:
Code:
2016-10-15 10:20:47 Opened LevelDB successfully
2016-10-15 10:20:47 LoadBlockIndexDB(): last block file = 0
2016-10-15 10:20:47 LoadBlockIndexDB(): last block file info: CBlockFileInfo(blocks=3253, size=8685018, heights=0...3238, time=2014-10-31...2016-10-15)

2016-10-15 10:20:47 LoadBlockIndexDB(): hashBestChain=852c4e1bf39171d104f69ec7acab0740105b1b6b1bb8791f60766faadaeecadb  height=3238 date=2016-10-15 10:05:53

zcoind is responsive after those 3 minutes (and I bet it could be faster on a device with better performance):

It's fixed, if you use the right branch.

On linux (assuming you have all dependencies installed; regarding dependencies please have a look here: https://github.com/zcoinofficial/zcoin/blob/master/doc/build-unix.md):
Code:
git clone https://github.com/zcoinofficial/zcoin.git
cd zcoin/src
git checkout dev
make -f makefile.unix

What info do you mean? I don't understand your question.

Do you even read bro?  Zerocoin protocol(zcoin) and zerocash protocol(zcash) are two different things.

They are competitors, not clones.
