What is a bitcoin bank?
An exchange?
Actually every wallet is a bank, the all system is a bank...

If people want Bitcoin banks, why not? The market will dictate if they find useful that third parties (once again) hold their money because they don't see responsible enough to hold it themselves. While it defeats the point of Bitcoin (being your own bank) who cares if someone runs such business as long as the protocol stays solid and the network nodes decentralized?

No way we dont need those, we do have already our own banks, where we control everything we do with our money, makes no sense to ask for such thing when people is looking for freedom.

i find it difficult to accept this idea. Why must we have "bitcoin banks" system ? this is ridiculous. Bitcoin itself is the most secure currencies which is developed and protected by the blockchain. Of course, we can consider Blockchain as a bank which keeping bitcoin alive and move from this place to another place. Bitcoin now are being used anonymously so i think it will be very dumb to deposit bitcoin to bank. They will know all your information and you may have to pay fee of using bitcoin

No it's not a good idea, bitcoin is itself secure if any third party get involved in bitcoin then it crevices insecure. Because there is no personal data stored while using bitcoin. And establishing bank will make the image of bitcoin worst.

i think i have said it many times but i do it again. people are dumb, lazy and ignorant. they prefer to be taken care for even if it will cost them some money. and also there are other people who will take gladly your money without hesitation. those types will always find together and even if i do not like the idea of bitcoin banks it will happen.

No. I don't see how a regular bank is any different from something named Bitcoin bank. In both cases you have no control over your money. I at all times will make sure I am the only person holding my coins. The only exception is when I am trading and when I mix my coins. Other than that, my coins are always in my full ownership.

it's definitely not for me, but I think it's inevitable for the majority of users eventually. people don't want that much control/risk. they want to park their money and not have to worry about it.
I dunno how it would ever work though as most people are very slack with their login details and no 'bank' is gonna compensate them for that.

There has already been a private bitcoin bank. It is a china based company. So what you did is that you can deposit your money into this bank and it will grow interest. It is very little like 1% per year and if you want higher rate, you can do fix deposit for a few months and the % varies. The owner will take your money to buy more hash equipment to hash for more btc.

that sounds like fractional reserve which doesn't do bitcoin or anyone else any good. no one's giving you interest unless they're lending out your money. it starts the cycle all over again. it's probably happening already with plenty of exchanges but it's bad news all the same. |

Recently, i often see discussion about Bitcoin Bank. More and more people come here and ask about bitcoin bank & surprisingly i see few user agree with this idea.
So, i would like to find out the percentage of user who agreed with this idea.
Honestly, i think this idea is stupid and worst idea that i've seen in my life. What do you think?
p.s. we don't talk about bitcoin debit card.
I would personally say that while there is no need for a Bitcoin bank in an optimal Bitcoin economy, there might be a want for one stemming from a group of users. It isn't a terrible idea, so long as they respect their depositors' funds and don't try to do some fractional reserve lending which would destroy the concept of a capped 21m Bitcoin. |

of course it isn't. it certainly is possible with a bitcoin bank. like any other institution you're giving up the rights to control over your money the moment you deposit. that's how the exchanges works now. you just hope they come good on your entry in their database when you try to withdraw. |
