Funny, so I've installed windows on one rig, Win 10 Pro, especialy for Claymore 8 and my 480's and like 10 years go, Win freezes completely on a random basis Smiley

It feels like nothing has changed since XP etc Smiley

Anyone got Win10 running stable on a Z170 based Motherboard ? (Asrock Gaming K6) Ubuntu runs flawless.

Which drivers do you use ? When I'm trying to install 15.12 it just hangs at 2% for the AMD App manager

for 480 use latest driver

Yes, I'm on the latest whql driver without the hot fix, might that be the problem?
change battery to high performance ? > https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-txw9u6X5FA
16 gb virtual memory ? > https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NkHjRKFUnNc
turn of superfetch ? > https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RPvOMlxLQAI

i turn into onboard mode, and freeze disappear,
but before it, no hope for it, keep freeze randomly

and lastly find intelHD driver, uninstall it if any

Thanks, will try all that

If using a z170 board good luck getting any more than 3 to run. I finally got 3 stable and will be building an open air case to put all my cards on risers and hopefully get 4 stable. The issue is resources and pcie lanes on the board. Try putting all your cards on risers and if they already are check device manager see if any say resources not available. This is most likely your issue same as mine just shit motherboards right now.

I've heard this too a few times. What's a recommended board for 1151 cpus then?

the super high end asus one its like $350 is the omly. 1151 board i found to work with up to 6 or 7 cards
it has wi fi all kind of adapters basically the most high end board for 1151
chips but its way  pricy for a dedicated mining rig.  I got it for the dual nics and planned to use it as my ethereum node host
before the price of eth tanked and i put my makor farm plans on hold

any body know why supernova are not paying the full block reward

Huh? What reward is missing or who pays more?

the reward is 12.5 and they are paying 10 just wondering why this would be the case

That's with default clock. It uses about 94 watts. I can get it to 210 sols with 120 watts so I decided the consumption increase was not worth the small increase in sols

Just thought I'd put in my .02 on mining with the 480's.

I have my cards set at 1333Mhz Core clock, 2100Mhz memory. I noticed that for some reason, my Powercolor Red Devil 480's actually throttle at 80C. I really have no idea why, and I was only getting like 190 sol's, tops. And I noticed my core clock and voltage were dropping.

Only when I applied a really aggressive fan curve, and kept my temps down below 80C, more like 78C, was my core and mem clocks going back to where I set them. At that 1333/2100 I'm getting about 203 sol/s per card. So do be sure to check that out in Afterburner, or whatever program you're using. I don't know why they're throttling so low. I do know that they never even came close to 80c when gaming at stock fan settings, so since this card seems to already run really cool anyway, they may have set it that way in BIOS or something. But just something to keep in mind, folks.

I have AsRock z170 Extreme3 only 4 card detected sometimes run over 100 hours sometimes freeze after 10 min. Try set pci express to GEN1 in BIOS disable all unused hardware like integrated VGA.
Don't buy 350$ motherboard for mining look this one http://www.asrock.com/mb/Intel/H81%20Pro%20BTC%20R2.0/ smoothly running 6 GPU, cost 60-70$, buy cheap celeron 35$ and 4GB RAM 20-25$.

You can always modify the bios with Polaris bios editor....raise the throtling temp, it has very simple user interface, you can done it by without asking for help if you have general knowledge for Computer's.

Same here, you can't really get any faster.

I was thinking about getting some RX 480s, but keep on hearing this type of information.  I am getting 188 SOLs with my RX 470s.  For the efficiency and price, I am staying with the RX 470s!

I flashed my reference rx 480 4gb cards to rx 480 8gb reference.  This increased my hashrate per card by about 10h/s.

All cards are downvolted by 96mv.  This lowered GPU temperatures and power usage significantly.

Fans are set at 80-81% speed.
GPU temps are down by 4C to 25C.

Biggest thing is the cards are no longer hitting 90C and throttling the GPU down.

Hash rate has gone to 190.9 to 195 h/s for most of the cards.

This is due to the fact I have 22 rx 480 GPU clustered together.
Running latest driver.

I know I can tweak the bios more, but I don't really have time right now.
