it's ok to overclock(750ti) +300 vram from default settings?
I've gone as high as +70 base / +400 ram on a EVGA 750 Ti SC under CudaMiner on Scrypt. Much higher than that and it would crash after some time. I think I have two cards running at +50/+300 right now at home with ccminer on X11. +300 definitely sounds doable unless you are running an algo which really heats up the card such as Scrypt-N. i'm running jackpotcoin algo, i'm at +100 now, i don't want to hurt the cards in the long run, but if it is doable i can try

i'm having a bit of a weird problem... i think it's my mobo, but i want to make sure i didn't screw something up during the setup... i have 5 evga ftw 750ti's hooked up to the fm2a88 extreme 6 mobo by asrock... this is the same exact mobo i use on my amd rigs, and i have 2 identical 5x290x rigs running on those boards for months now without hickups, although they did give me grief at first when being setup... for some reason, i cannot get this board to run with 5 cards... actually, let me rephrase that, i had it setup and running with 5 cards almost immediately, and it ran great for about 3 days, until i started seeing a "runaway thread" where one of the threads would just throw up crazy numbers, but never submit shares... my "fix" for this was to simply reboot the pc for the first time in days, and that's when all hell broke loose... now the mobo either doesn't boot up with all 5 cards hooked up, and throws up an error 94 (irq conflict, or something similar), or when it does boot up after like a dozen of resets, it either doesn't see all the 5 cards or one of them has an exclamation mark saying that the device is not functioning properly and has been turned off... the exclamation mark shifts from card to card on each successful reboot, so it's never the same one... i've eliminated some factors already... i've tried all the gpu's separately, and they all work, so it's not the gpu or the risers... i'm using powered risers, have plenty of power (1000 watter is powering the whole thing), and have checked and rechecked all my connections a gazillion times, but still can't run 5 cards... 4 - no problem... 5 - nope... again, i ran for like 3 days without issues, so have no idea what happened, or what's going on, or how to fix this problem... any suggestions are welcome

no much luck at the moment with the new(est) crytptonote Aeon, not a single block
Should I try my luck too when the fastest instaminer in the whole cryptoworld even failed, djm34?

people are launching 1000's of AWS instances at it, be warned. btw we play at similar scales now. cpu+gpu hybrid.

Christian, on cryptonote, is it worthwile using regular aws instances, or were you really going for spot instances (better priced)? Hybrid heh?! Still hoping you'll get around to get ccminer on cryptonote, would be very much worthwhile if the performance is 2x i7-4770 or any higher. Happy profits ~ Myagui

Ah! Now it makes sense. I was "calculating" that even with spot instances, one would hardly make a profit right now, but I suppose that a few days ago, and with miner tweaks, you'll be having a blast ~ Myagui

Oh no Christian. With this the thread will become full with boys coming and screaming about this. I just make a rumor about 2 days ago and even receive some PMs about it. LOL. Btw congrat your work again. nVidia preferable coins are most profitable for weeks now. I think we will see big nVidia farms soon when GTX 880 comes out.

Outside of my knowledge other than to say: get new cards. you 2 are talking about different things entirely. watcoin your talking about your accepted rate, Amph your talking about hashrate, so ignore every post up until now on it your hashrate will fluctuate depending on system load, temps. even to the point of if your cpu isnt a very high end one, loading a web browser or your anti-virus checking for updates could effect it. Other things are, your pci-e lanes are geting full, in that case even using usb devices could cause a slow down. hashrate does fluctuate and is normal, ooo and if your mining to a pool, if the pool sets a low diff every so often it will effect things. again that is normal

Christian, for everyone's sake, I kindly request that you'd avoid dumping all those moneros (assuming that's what you're mining) as soon as you see that your proceeds are 'flooding' the market (meaning, in case that you reach a point where you alone are driving the price down). If and once you reach that point, you're much better off sharing the miner with everyone & holding the remainder of your stash, and reap the benefits later on, after the nethash increases and allowing for demand to stabilize. The only reason I bring this up is that I'm worried that you might just have too much of the nethash to allow for a stable exchange rate. Maybe I'm overestimating it, anyways, figured worth sharing these thoughts. I would want to mine monero in order to hold some, so I would be diminishing demand (however insignificant my influence would be ), which contributes to your current stash to become more valuable. With monero specifically, I think many others would do the same as me (holding), given the chance to mine with nvidia. ~ Myagui

Whitepaper looks real good, has a cool esperanto name and it is the first (big) cryptonight coin come on! :p (bytecoin...never heard of it before so yeah)

I am not doing the day to day operations. I am not in charge of this. There will always be a large share of people who mine for profit only and who will sell immediately. It's a tactical decision to hold. And it's unwise to do that during a downward trend. Even when holding the cloud bills still have to be paid. So some sell-off is unavoidable to cover operating expenses.
