something wrong there, a 980 should do x3 750ti, maybe not optimized code for maxwell 2.0, notice nits5 at 99%, that's x3 750ti, the other are not well optimized for sure

maybe the 980 is at default , not oc'd

so 140w for 6.6M on x11 vs 2.5 750ti to obtain that, but you need 150w , also for every 1 rig with 980(at full tdp usage) you need 3 750ti, they are better just for this, but the price is a big no no for now

It's probably just stock or even reference Wink
This makes me doubt even more if I'd want a 9xx. If the 970 is in the same line, and no one is able to optimize X11 (and others) for maxwell 2.0, a 750TI is still the better choice for mining. And as I said before, my 760 is still doing fine enough for my taste, no need for a new card just for gaming.

Anyways, a 970 would still be the best bang for the buck for gaming, if you need more power, just sli two. 980 just isn't 'it'.

nope, definitely no early GPUs. And just one 750Ti.

I think I'll give the 9xx series a pass. Still sitting on 3 780Ti cards that I can SLI for extra giggles.

that's what I was saying yesterday, the mining review is usually strange...
X11 seems rather okay compared to my 780ti around 6MH/s (scrypt... might be a bit underestimated...)
Whirlpool... either I forgot to update my github and I did a really really good job at optimizing  Grin (might be true though... but not that much... beginning of last week, I had 50% of whirlcoin net hashrate  Grin), but the 780ti does around 18MH/s so the 12MH/s looks small...
Now there is huge bottleneck for the 750ti, but it should be at least 15MH/s (if it scales properly....)

might still buy 2 for sli...

if anyone wanted to buy 900 series for mining, i would advise u buy BTC instead because BTC right now is below 400. Its even possible to buy at 350

BTC is either in serious manipulation (big whales trying to dump and buy at low price for months, they probably did this by buying ASIC (millions of dollar worth of ASIC) and dump mine coin to bring down the price) or BTC is going to stay below $500 for a very long time.

im expecting the latter. Its been low for too long to be whale manipulation i think

Haha, So miners should buy 750Ti and gamers 980?
is that different between maxwell 1.0 & 2.0?is that both use cuda compute 50?

Nope. Manipulation can last for a very long time until they get their target. If there are big whales who want to make billions , the whole manipulation operation lasting for months or year is worth it.

One of the possible way to manipulate is to buy rig. Hashrate has gone up a lot and price is going down. It seems weird. It could be someone buy rigs and dump the price down for manipulation

U can make more money manipulating low price VS high price.

For example, going from $200 to $400 is double and it's easier to do than going from $1000 to $2000 which is also double.

If i want to play the BTC market , i will make it go low and stay there. If i have the ability to make BTC $100. I would. And i will collect as much coin as i can. Pump it up to $400 - $600. And Repeat while my fund grow in size for bigger  manipulation

there is the 970, which is better than both

personally density it too important and i don't want to deal with multiple rig anymore, pain in the ass, better to have 1 powerful rig than 3, with the same hash, also less consumption

I already ordered 980 , replacing 2pcs of AMD 280X. I think its better choise than 970 because of the count of the cuda cores ...
