we can expect multi-fold money to in-flow in coming days from whales and others by considering the reputation of yolo and how attractive their investment program still persists. The early we do invest, we can enjoy relatively big profits and I am sure, it is not late as whales yet to start investing as per recent halving and as per crypto market scenarios.
You can't expect a 4000 litecoin investment constantly, that is a rare thing. Definitely there could be a lot more 100-200 levels for example which would eventually drop the value of the 4000 ltc but you can't expect many 4000 litecoin type of situations, I think people would rather have like 40 people who invest 100 litecoin instead of one 4000, that way it would also be safe that if he leaves the bankroll would drop like hell but in 40 people who invest 100 ltc there won't be any leaving all together suddenly, even if half of them leaves at the same week, that would be 2000 litecoin still there.

So, I think 4000 litecoin is not a good thing for the website neither, it is just a bad thing that one person now has a monopoly in the investment section (for litecoin at least).

Actually I hit my second one 2 hours after posting that one too (autobet as well)! The odds are actually quite "high" since you have to only hit x77777 so that is just 1 in 200k (you also have to win) but I guess I have not been very lucky in the past, so now 2 hits in my lifetime just hours apart,,, small amount too but 100x the wager is still nice Wink

I do try with larger amounts of 10k satoshi every now and then but no luck yet;)

It's like when you are putting higher amounts the odds are getting smaller for a jackpot.  Grin

Nah, just my superstitious belief.
I have so many of that whenever I lost in streaks and still not hitting anything that will satisfy me.  Grin

Looks like someone put all his jackpot winning into the investment reel.

few hours back someone invested like 4000 LTC in the YOLOdice bankroll  Cool it almost halved the rest of the investor's percentage share in the bankroll.

Just levelled up an hour or two ago, loving the extra rake back, every little bit counts! The Bitcoin network has been really flooded this few weeks so the withdrawal fee is quite high now even on the batch withdrawal, I guess it is hitting everyone quite hard. Any plan for us to move to pure segwit or some other consideration like lightning network? Not complaining, I always gamble for my fee:)

I think YOLOdice already supports deposits and withdraws for segwit format addresses. about lighting network very long back I have heard Ethan saying that he's playing with that (he stated this somewhere in YD chat box or in bitcointalk thread) so maybe someday he will implement lighting network.

regarding adopting new technology Ethan is always in the first place. I guess most of the casinos do not offer an option to log in with BTC address by signing a message but YD does that, personally, I would say log in with master address is one of the safest / securest ways compared to 2fa or whatever the other methods available.

i did not know it may support the lightning network, that would be really good. i havent used it myself yet but i do have some services where i can withdraw some if i have somewhere to send it, it would be nice to send it to yolo for investing Smiley

can you please lower fees for bitcoin withdrawals ? I know the network sucks now but the site charged me 0.00218 for the withdrawal while only 1/6 of that amount was paid in fees for the withdrawal tx

Ouch.  I've spent $160 on a txid once... sucks.

Welcome to centralized bitcoin mining being able to spam their own stuff and milk anyone else that wants to ride along.

It is really smart, but surely it is harmful.  We are looking at implementing Lightning network.

Just tried the investment part of YoloDice hoping to see what I can learn from this. Well, it is fun to see the profit percentage going upside/down though it actually hurts to see those reds Shocked. I decided to invest because of the high transaction fee required in the network and I don't what my funds to be stagnant.

Thank you. I know it is segwit already but I meant pure segwit with the bech address. We could have both forms to support people who cannot accept it,,, of course I know it does not change since all my exchanges are not pure segwit but at least if we withdraw to our own wallet it saves money.

Master address sign in is rare agree,,, but many people do not realize this tech:)

I chose the batch payments and only paid half that 0.00109 but I agree,,, it does feel quite expensive. Even if I pay 250 satoshi/byte now on my own wallet to get the next block it only costs 30000+ satoshi. Maybe increase fees for small withdraws?

I have to admit the network fees are getting crazy in the last few days - I've tried to switch to a different algorithm, but still, we cannot ignore the fact that mempool is full - see https://btc.com/stats/unconfirmed-tx

If the transactions are to be confirmed in a reasonable time, we have to use high fees :-(((((

If nothing changes in a day or two I'll try to find a better solution for this, but for now the withdrawal fees are bound to the network fees. One solution is to use batch withdrawals if you're not in hurry...

Another thing is that the start/end date of weekly competitions changed - it's now at Monday, 21:00 UTC time (instead of 0:00 UTC Monday). I had to do this because I am not able to wake in the middle of the night and reliably send the prizes any more. I've been waking up like that for the last 21 weeks and I have to confess - I am getting too old for this :-)

So the current competition is a transitional one - it started at 0:00 UTC last Monday, but will end at 21:00 UTC on Monday.

Cheers,
Ethan

actually I have been using yolodice for really long time but I have never tried to withdraw with the batch option
any idea what's the average time for processing when using batch ? if it's averaging less than 1 hour I guess it worth the time to save that extra 10$ and probably more in the future

We don't have that huge transaction volume, so the batch withdrawals are processed every 5h, so if you request a batch withdrawal your average waiting time should be 2-3h.

Miners are not really doing themselves a justice, if they did fee's at a reasonable amount they would probably get it forever, but they are not doing that and charge people a lot of money which I assume is probably a revenge on that bitcoin cash fork, and that is why I think they are going to lose.

Right now, we are talking about lightning network and other faster things because the results will be basically us no longer needing miners for transactions. Sure miners will still make money from what they mine, but that won't be enough. So as long as they keep charging people a lot of money like that, they will be bringing their own ends to it and we are going to eventually phase out miners from fee's however if they smarten up they will probably lower it and get it for far longer.

Indeed it was two/three hours after I requested,,, I actually never tried to do the instant one as I never needed it super urgently but yes, I guess everywhere now is caught up in the network problems, but it is a bit painful to see such high costs because my friends always use this against me (as I always told them about bitcoin being cheap on average)! Maybe we have to consider batch and size of withdrawals even,,,

Emit, it's nothing to do with miners. People who set the fees are the ones setting the fees, but miners are simply choosing the transactions that earn them the most. It's a profit game and anyone would do that even me. It's nothing to do with revenge. How it works on all fee based transaction blockchains!

There are some thieves on Yolodice site and they have been active for 3 years. You still don't ban them. This reduces the quality and reliability of the site. This should put an end to it.
We have told people since the site's creation that trades and loans are not allowed, the only exception being YD account selling.  In other words, if you choose to still engage in them and you get scammed, it's your own fault.  Mods do not get involved in trades/loans that shouldn't be happening in the first place; you should have reported them for asking for a trade/loan instead of obliging, in which case we would have issued a mute.

If you think the site is full of thieves then why are you trusting people to begin with?

Lol I think the time change makes sense, I do not really think anyone really cares about when it ends or starts as long as it ends and starts Cheesy. So, to break your back on getting the prizes that late is definitely not something I would really want. I would even try to find like an automatic version after week 4 if it was me Cheesy.

If the transactions are to be confirmed in a reasonable time, we have to use high fees :-(((((

If nothing changes in a day or two I'll try to find a better solution for this, but for now the withdrawal fees are bound to the network fees. One solution is to use batch withdrawals if you're not in hurry...
You might have the cliche metamask three option thing. I am sure someone else did before them but metamask made it a bit more famous. Just have it cheap-normal-fast and according to that you either get it in 30 minutes to 1 hour, or 2 hours to 6 hours, or in 12 hours to 24 hours. Those are literally giving the power to the user and removes all trouble from you as well.

There are some thieves on Yolodice site and they have been active for 3 years. You still don't ban them. This reduces the quality and reliability of the site. This should put an end to it.

Thieves? Are you getting scammed by yolodice's users? You need to inform them by sending a pm to ethan or email support with valid proofs. Anyway, if you are getting scammed, something like you give a loan to other user but he/she do not pay back it then it is basically your own fault. Bear in mind to avoid lending some money to other users, unless you know them personally. It does not reduce the reliability of the site, we cant deny the fact that online scammers are almost everywhere. Be careful.

These thieves and those who protect them will go to hell ... Cool
Sorry for your loss but I think it would be more appropriate to send some factual evidence regarding the scam to @ethan_nx or to the support in the website itself. As far as I know, trading or any other similar activities is unmoderated and they are not liable for any loss committed from their players. Also, do not easily trust a stranger especially if a large money is involve during the trade because there is no guarantee that there will be a safe place especially on the internet.  Smiley

Hi,

the BTC network fees have been quite high for the last couple of days. Because of the fact that our own withdrawal fees are proportional to network fees these have been quite high too - up to 0.002 BTC per withdrawal. You don't have to be Einstein to realize it's high.

I've been looking at different fee estimations looking for ways to make the withdrawal fees smaller. Today I've changed the algorithm so that we now target withdrawals to be included in the next 5 blocks. The fees are a bit lower now (right now it's 0.00118 BTC for instant withdrawal) - still high, but better than before.

I still hope the network fees will get down in the next couple of days. Lightning network is IMO not a cure for all the problems but I keep looking at it.

On the other hand - LTC, ETH and DOGE network fees are much more reasonable. Sometimes it might be cheaper to convert e.g. BTC->LTC and withdrawal with really low fees instead.

BTW: how many of you have and use LN wallets? Would you use them if we launched LN transactions?

Cheers,
Ethan
