I don't think it's true, based on my own experience.
From maybe 50 people I know personally, let's say, maybe 40 using Internet.
From this 40 maybe only 10 using Internet for more serious things like online shopping etc.
How many know about Bitcoin?
I think 5-6.
Others just don't care about such things.
It's still reality and we have to be aware about it.

I had the same experience as you had and I agree with you. But bitcoin is just beginning and we need to see the bigger picture. Take a look at the coming 20 to 30 years. Bitcoin will be famous and will be used widely more than today. The volume of transactions will be massive if the code and algorithm is well maintained till then.

Everyone has the same experience as we all know bitcoin is not really that much popular in practical world but it is just there on internet and someone who is not always involved in internet does not know anything about it, in my case if i ask a half of the people around me i'm sure none of them will say they have even heard about bitcoin, so yes, "Not everyone knows about bitcoin."

Almost all of my friends have no idea what is bitcoin, and when i told them and explained to them they laugh at me, nobody is taking bitcoin serious, bitcoin stilll need a lot of advertisement and promotion, eventhough i keep on hearing the number of the user is increasing, but it is really rare people know about bitcoin
Same with my friends too, they aren't interested in bitcoin. i had told them like a year ago about bitcoin. they're regretting now, the price of bitcoin has increased a lot since  i'd told them.

they aren't interested but at least they have an idea about bitcoin as what you've said they feel regret after they realized that the value of bitcoin have become more expensive . so no that they've feel regret maybe they will have a little interest with it and will start on using it until they've also become successful Grin

Every time I go to the bank I like to ask them if they have heard of BTC, most of the time the answer is no.
I do ask a lot of people about BTC.. a restaurant near me.. near ish use to accept it as well, I asked to pay with it, they said it no longer exists.. .... ...

Most people I find still have zero idea what BTC is unless they are friends with the likes of us.. I don't think we are even in early adoption stage.. we are in "the chasm" .. it would appear we are going to survive though... appear anyways..

I dunno just something I have taken note of.

Pretty much everyone that has heard of it assumes it's worth like 5 cents and shits themselves when I say it's $1k (Cad) .. we are in very interesting times with BTC.

Same here, in my area even not a single person know about bitcoin. Bitcoin is not much popular like other digital currency paypal. In my country bitcoin is not popular, only some people on internet know about bitcoin so far.

Over the years bitcoin users will increase high, also the user profiles increases gradually compared to other mediators similar to paypal. The reason is that, bitcoin doesn't popularize itself through advertisements, social media or through other sources. It is getting spread through the one who feel it advantageous.

the number of people knowing about bitcoin is low but to be frank it has been rising with a nice rate.
every time there is a new rise more people find out about bitcoin as an investment, and the number grows.
every time there is a big business starts accepting bitcoin more users find out about bitcoin as a currency, and the number grows some more.

this actually is the reason for the price rise.

I think many people have already heard about bitcoin but they haven't really researched it. However after all these price rises I think many people will start to think that maybe they should check out what this Bitcoin thing really is. Then some of those people really get into it and buy some, the others won't buy but atleast they'll know what Bitcoin really is and they don't just see it as something criminals use.

Sometimes i get the feeling it is the other way round. Some just see the rising price and want in on the profit, but are not really interested in the technology. The just learn enough to buy the coins.

The thing is there many ignorant people out there who sre not willing to learn and pass up opportunity because of laziness and other things. We dont need those people anyway. More and more people will use it as the are introduced to it by friends and people they know online.

I do agree with you very few people know bitcoin inspite of using their internet for different activities and would tally this as 1 in every 500 people use bitcoin or have atleast heard about it

to me i think not more than 1 percent of people are using bitcoin in the whole world. and the majority of people still do not know any thing about it, but it is nice to hear that the population of bitcoin users is continuously increasing ans it is expected that in next few years the majority of people will start using bitcoin.

i am agree with you, we can see that in 2016, bitcoin user is grow than before and beside that, i am sure that in future, many places will give info about bitcoin. and we can see that in store offline section, we know that starbucks is accepting bitcoin for the payment, then the other will follow this too.

Many people believe that bitcoin is insecure probably because of hacking news that pop up every now and then.
They believe thay since bitcoin is not backed by any government,it is highly risky to convert their fiat into bitcoin.
This is the reason most if them want free bitcoin rather than buying it so that they dont lose anything in case the losw their bitcoins

I have been involved in online business for ten years, but despite the long times I have spent in front of my PC carrying out all available online business schemes, I never heard about bitcoin despite my multiple interactions with online mates, and that is why I am actually a newcomer in this interesting altcoin world. So I think most people have never had a chance to get involved in the bitcoin ecosystem.

There are people, who have no clue at all, what Bitcoin is.But,I think everybody, who is in the internet marketing knows a lot about Bitcoin or at least has heard about Bitcoin.Almost all the earning sites(Ptc,Revshare,Gpt sites)do have a Bitcoin payment option and there are many people being active on those sites,so there is another way to raise the curiosity of the people about  Bitcoin and this way the people want to find out more about Cryptocurrencies.
