Dude I really, really hope you haven't given this guy Bitcoins.

Yifu Gou had an entire university and Asian manufacturing network through friends at his disposal. Yes Avalon's beginnings were vastly different.

This site allows you to choose to purchase at market rate, but gives you 24 hours to commit due to volatility. Lol the BTC price fell 30 dollars alone today so seeing as they are ordering parts on some form of fiat one would assume it doesn't make for a solid business plan does it!! Why not give 10 minutes since the purchase price is based on the current. At least you lost 6.5 BTC and not the 8.5 they now demand.

At least they give each customer a max of 3000 dollars worth of imaginary kit to be scammed by, unlike BFL that will take as much as you give them.

Note I do believe BFL will eventually deliver, just Josh is an utter moron for designing cases without a working board and also for not being straight and instead showing contempt and releasing his own frustrations base on his own poor dedications on his quite justifiably angry customers. That said I just think his issue is a case of wanting to over deliver as opposed to genuine malice.

F**k me, what's this kid's background, where did he study, what facilities is he using. I thought he may have some convincing complications he could divulge on his process to manufacture over a few months, but he has years, years worth of content.

This should be good. C'mon kid what mistakes did you make along the way, how did you redesign/overcome them?

Nearly three years, I want a complete breakdown of the board part by part, why you chose which manufacturer, what didn't work out, why, what you did next and throw in a couple of funny but 'true' moments to break the monotony.

For now i have a foot in the door and will gladly buy more upon definitive proof, hopefully before everyone else.

Well I am not sure. It may have taken three years. It may have been originally an FPGA, and then switched to ASICs.

If it is a scam, it's a very convincing one.  If you lot scrutinised my business web sites, i'm sure I would have a lot to answer for, yet my customers are happy.

I call scam too. Show your face, let us know who you are, your public social network profile. Be proud of your work, I mean you've undertaken and succeeded in revolutionising an industry and you want to hide yourself. Have you any idea employment potential you supposedly now have? Hell your specialist in demand knowledge now grants you a Visa in any country of your choosing! I don't care if the lights are green, red, blue or yellow, just discuss the iterative process it took for you to come to this stage and why you've bitten your tongue so long.

I've designed and engineered products before. I studied the subject in university. I could bore you sh**less with my designs as could any designer/engineer.

Most of the knowledgable people on this forum could talk you to sleep if you stumbled on a subject of their expertise, so come on my Lebanese whiz kid with a European accent; tell us and demonstrate with your finished product' everything that you know about designing ASICS as opposed to web design!...

Oh and FFS at least get your parter in crime in the background to hold your iPhone for you when videoing. Even better borrow a camera. I mean surely you want to demonstrate the fruits of your labour in the best way possible. I'd hate for people to assume your shoddy camerawork was to hide your deceit.

I expect a better video with more attention on the red and green lights!

I couldn't say if it's scam or not - have to see if someone who's ordered gets a product actually gets one.

But I completely disagree, if they are doing this design and production where they appear to be - they need to keep their identities secret. That being said, I would like higher quality video and stable clear shots of everything (like the board) with wider angles so we can actually see something.

So you believe a guy with no known experience that lives in a country facing political turmoil has created a miner capable of killing your competition without raising funds from pre-order (yes i know he claims they are preordering currently, but they also claim to have raised enough funds to ship in two weeks - so why preorder of you have the parts paid for) and wants to sell it for hardly any profit instead of printing his own meal tickets for the foreseeable future as he has the parts to do so and that one machine alone will raise more funds then the profit he will make reselling it and the rest of the supposed pre-orders!?

I agree it's fishy. They just need to put up some proper pictures, and a better video with some lighting.  A Q&A session after that, then the floodgates will open for them.

I tend to agree, looked pretty photoshoppy the way the shadows all seemed the same. I CAN TELL BY THE PIXELS!!!!!!1! Also, the photos are really low resolution. Absolutely no reason for that.

I'll buy one of these right now if they can prove that this isnt a scam undeniably.  What else can they provide?  I saw the video and let me tell you... very convincing, I'd love to see some live mining statistics of a few of these running concurrently.

edit: after googling a bit, it does seem they do have these technologies in Tripoli Lebanon,(saw a few job offers for asic design) wonder which company is doing this?  

If these guys are for real, its a hell of allot better buy than BFL

I meant kid as in young guy, not child. I agree he has gone to town with the GUI, that is impressive, but to be working on it for nearly three years and not be sh*t hot on the hardware. I'm a techie, I'm great as presenting, I realise that's rare, but regardless no way would anyone talk around the lights and ports over the board itself especially if it had consumed that much of their life and wanted to convince people to invest, and why choose to set a site up two months or so back? Why not run a blog emphasising the excruciating trials and tribulation endured the whole time? C'mon people, seriously, have you lot never designed anything before, it's massively labour intensive, it can consume your life and you will know the product inside and out back to front and want to show off every aspect until people drift aslee...zzzzzz!

there is a software version difference from the gui pic and the video, the pic has .7 beta and the video has a newer version of the gui v.8 beta

not that its proof or anything, but they are working on making the gui look better, id however like to see a full working machine with a howto video/manual etc
