Is taxation theft?

I certainly do not think so. It is a compulsory contribution mandated by the law for the public purpose. So, it's our obligation to pay taxes since this is where the government gets fund for building roads, hospitals, ports, etc. At the end of the day, we all benefit from it. On the side note, I believe we are taxed rightfully based on our income. What we should be most concerned about is how the our taxes are used by our officials.

TAX can be classified in two ways, the IMPROVEMENT, AND THEFT!
yes, a tax can be a way todo theft as we have so many government officials that are corrupt, corruption make those tax liquidate on their on purpose or directly gone through their bank accounts and wallet.

IMPROVEMENT - some of the tax was really into the community and this is the funds that are allotted for the government to make improvement of INFRASTRUCTURE and some budgets for the government agencies to make people lives better.

Isn't it is how they the government used it. Taxes used to be as a fund for government project without it how they finance infrastructures like bridges, high way and government facilities(school, hospital and etc).

I think it is fair for governments to tax within reason.  We all share common benefit to roads, schools, police and fire fighters.  These services cost money.  But I think government is growing a bit out of control.

Well, in some ways it is, but the government was created by people, so people themselves delegated a part of their rights to the government to feel that somebody protects them from external threat and internal troubles. So we can not change anything nowadays.

Some of you people are acting like sheep happy to see yourselves being robbed. How can you say that it's not theft if you can't just say that you won't pay them and get on with your life? A slave can't say he won't work because he'll get beaten or killed. It's the same with the taxpayer. In many countries you'll end up in jail where you can get beaten raped and even murdered. And all because you didn't want to contribute to the wellbeing of your masters and rullers. The politicians who claim to be working for your benefit but are in fact doing it for their own.

In my country taxes are getting higher. If that isn't problematic enough prices of goods, commodities
and services are getting higher as well but the wage is still the same. If there's ever an increase taxes
are just gonna consume it. You don't see the quality and speed of services and projects that our taxes are
supposedly for. Yes, it is a theft sometimes a very well laid planned form of theft.

I could not consider tax as a theft. Its the government has the right to impose tax to individual. It's our obligation to pay tax since we are ruled by the government. It will be use in public purpose.

depending on the government. not all taxes. the government has pocketed some kind of shelters, bridges and so on .. but if they did not pocket a lot of finished projects.

It's theft when the majority of the funds are used to perpetuate a bloated/corrupt government whose main purposes are to oppress it's citizens and to squeeze more taxes out of them, to the benefit of the elite.

Most of us have problems with taxes, and this is also one of the biggest problems in the country. Looking back from previous years, we can say that the tax objective if used correctly is to develop a well-organized organization. country and economy, but because of talking also most people there make fun of the taxes we pay.

Taxation is not theft rather it is the way of other politicians to mislead the tax to be their money. Taxation is a must by individual who work, who have business, who earn money in the right age. The purpose of tax is the development of infrastructure, healthcare, education, and more for the benefits of citizens. Tax develop to help government by individual in a light way of helping. but look, if it's done right, tax can help improve the country and it's cities. Imagine if everyone is paying their taxes and then you can ue that money to help upgrade the local hospital of childrens playground, rework the pawement, etc... But usually that's not the case and also, high taxes make people avoid them, like the luxury tax or income tax.

High taxes paid by large earning taxpayers are somehow not being allocated properly. Many politicians are being corrupt and not spending it right. I agree with you, if all of the tax collections are just spent to improve our Education sector, Public sector, Health sector then we cannot say that our government is stealing from us. Paying taxes is our responsibility to our country. Whether we are directly having benefit from it or not.

Up to a reasonable limit, I would not consider taxation as a major irritant. For example, in Russia the income tax level is 13%. This is a level, which I feel comfortable. On the other hand, here in India the income tax rates are 31%, and on top of that we have to pay for the Goods and Service Tax (GST, which can range from 5% to 28%).

Not in my opinion. It is money for the good of the many. Though sometimes it goes straight to the pockets of corrupt politicians. I am experiencing taxes spent right because I am studying college without tuition fee. Our government is paying for our education.

That way I see it, taxation is not theft, the tax overload. taxation for the construction of the same infrastructure, building governance, laws and legislation, security - all of which are necessary prerequisites for the establishment of countries that have secure stable status. Not present and you are left with anarchy, disorganized disorder

taxation in itself isnt theft, well somehow it is but you gotta manage the country somehow. but people living on these taxes is theft and politicans wasting them aswell
