There is a thread about recomendations for the best wallet to use, but not all practice what they preach, so this poll is to see what people are actually using.
I understand that some people use multiple wallets of different kinds, so this poll asks which wallet is most used, this can be measured either by quantity of bitcoin or ammount of transactions.

If you don't have sole and complete control over the private keys, you don't have any bitcoin!  Signature campaigns are OK, zero tolorance for spam!

two of the options in this poll are not even a wallet. such as exchange (i have no idea what faucet credit is!) and physical bitcoin (this one is a collectible not a wallet.)

and the poll should be multi choice not single choice, because technically anybody should be using multiple wallets in my opinion. at least two: one hot wallet for spending and one cold for long term storage.

and my cold storage is not in the poll Cheesy
i use a live linux with its network removed and encrypted for log in with Electrum on it.

Paper wallet - it's all right there Smiley

Just make sure you check your sources and print from a clean box...and keep that piece of paper safe.  Web, exchange; anything out of your hands is extremely likely to be compromised over a physical medium (assuming you're practicing safe storage methods).

I use Electrum.
It is light weight and I don't have to worry about retrieving my bitcoins if my computer crashes.  Smiley

I think this kind of thread has come up before, anyway you could have simplified it and kept it easier by listing names of the wallets. For the best one is Coinbase.com it's simple, easy and efficient to use. It's has good Security measures. Then there's Xapo but I never have used it but people love it. And of course the common wallets blockchain, there's not much to say about it. Then the thing one is supposed to take care is which wallet gives you the keys and this is important if you are holding a huge amount, hope it helps you.

I think the desktop wallet is a wallet safest because you do not depend on a third party and you are fully responsible for your bitcoin. you should have a backup and a private key to keeping your bitcoin when something happens to your computer

I do not use any single wallet for my bitcoins. I always keep more than two wallets including hardware and online wallet. This is the key to safely store my bitcoins. I also maintain a small balance in my trading accounts which I use for daily trading.

never keep your bitcoins in any single wallet as it can be hacked and you will end up loosing all your bitcoins. Always use more than two wallets for your bitcoins so that if any one wallet is hacked, some of your bitcoins will be saved.

I use web wallet even peoples said it's not safe to save your money online. I use web wallet because it will save me when I accidently broke my computer if I use desktop wallet, or if I lose my phone when I use mobile wallet.
But many times, I place my bitcoin in the exchangers wallet. Because the fee is low and it's support my local currency.

I think electrum is suitable for all of us even if he is a newbie or an expert. I have used electrum for many years and I find it very useful and easy to use. Right now, I am using two wallets: core and electrum. Core is better since you can do many things with it. If you want to learn some advanced techniques with your Bitcoin, Core will be the best choice

I use 2 kind of wallets, one for daily/monthly use which I prefer more an online wallet even though it's not recommended and the second one is a hardware wallet which I prefer to use more as a long term wallet like a cold wallet.

Mobile wallet as "checking account" for ease of use that I never keep too much on, multisig paper wallets as "savings account" that I keep it all on for highest level of security. I feel it's one of the best combinations you can have.

I only have a small stash of BTC so I use Electrum. Maybe if I grow my stash to 20 BTC or more I might think about buying a hardware wallet. Preferably a Trezor. Keepkey was my first choice but after the news that they were hacked I changed my mind.

obviously aside from cold storage in paper wallets i have another wallet and i have always been using a light (SPV) wallet called electrum all these years but it has been some time that i have been thinking about running a Full node myself. i am having some trouble with my internet provider but as soon as i sort that out i will start my own full node, and my computer is running long hours already better if i contribute to bitcoin network too.

I am using a web wallet right now. I prefer a web wallet since I can have access to it wherever I go as long as there is an internet connection. Unlike other wallets web wallets can be accessed using smartphones and apps. Specifically I am using the web wallet hosted by blockchain.info since the btc address keeps changing in every transaction that adds to the security factor.
