I use web wallets at coinbase and local bitcoin. Predominantly because i dont understand how the other wallets really work. I do know they are all more secure. Would love to be linked to some easy to understand information about switching to a more secure set up. Some good info in this thread already.

I'm currently using Jaxxwallet but I'm trying to find other alternatives since I've been hearing about different services that have been hacked into this past year. I'm thinking of using a trezor to keep my coins safe, anyone with any experience?

I use Electrum.
It is light weight and I don't have to worry about retrieving my bitcoins if my computer crashes.  Smiley

I use electrum too but its not that if the computer crashes the wallet will survive. The Wallet will be lost but your coins can only be retrieve if you know the private key and that is the case with most of the desktop wallets. Keep the private key save out of your computer and relax as you can easily import the file into the wallet and get access to your bitcoins.

It does not mean that fresh water fishes are not salty means that salt water fishes are not. What I mean is that it does not mean that a hardware wallet is effective for you does also mean that it is effective for other people. And on top of that it is also depends on how often you are going to use Bitcoin.

If it is like very often then an online wallet is recommended since it can be accessed right away and you can convert it to fiat just as quick. But if you just wanted to old Bitcoin and wait for it to have a pumped price then a hardware wallet is a more logical choice.

BitGo. It has a high level of security: two-factor authentication and joint control of funds.

Please can somebody answer me this question, what is cold wallet? Isblockchain.info a cold wallet?

I think cold wallet is the wallet that is disconnected to the internet, it maybe a usb wallet, or a desktop wallet stored in a non intenernet setup.  Blockchain.info is an online wallet but the good thing is, you still have access to the private key of your address.

I am fond of usiing electrum wallet since it is light to the system and have the ability to extract private key.  It also have these dynamic or manual fee setting option which enable us to adjust it the way we want it to be.

I am using Electrum and Blockchain.info wallets. Electrum and similar pc wallets give you the access to the private keys which is needed for best security.
Blockchain wallet is also safe as long as you interest about your security login and details.

Of course, I understand the benefits of a cold wallet for Bitcoin, but I use a purse wallet and are completely satisfied with it, and first of all because the Bitcoin wallet has a multi-level protection against breaking and checking financial transactions.

I use a web based wallet at Blockchain.info. Though I've heard severally that it  might be necessary to use a cold wallet as an extra precaution against theft, this hot wallet has been serving me well.

There is a thread about recomendations for the best wallet to use, but not all practice what they preach, so this poll is to see what people are actually using.
I understand that some people use multiple wallets of different kinds, so this poll asks which wallet is most used, this can be measured either by quantity of bitcoin or ammount of transactions.

I use electrum which is a software for windows and I also use coinbase for my web wallet.

Hardware and Light wallets for me. Dont take up much space on my HD and its very secure! Just gotta be careful with the private keys and recovery seeds, because if you lose those your coins are gone forever.
