Recent spike--panicked traders rushing to get their $$$ out of BFX, no matter the cost?

The same thing happened after Stamp got hacked. The price shot up as anyone who wanted his coins out fast bought at any price. It soon crashed afterwards though, down to 150 ish. If I had money on Finex I'd be willing to take a big haircut from buying over priced coins to get it out of there as fast as possible.

-snip-

We will reach there, don't worry Tongue

Hang in tight old buddy. The price sucks but they couldn't keep us below 200 or even in the low 200's for long. I bought another 2 bitcoins the other day. I'm planning to buy another 3 or 4 on Friday on payday when I have more fiat available. I kind of hope the price stays down until then.

Guess what bro, these few days I was thinking heavily about you and about that party, even if it will settle on YOU ONLY, we will enjoy one week in hell, and it's first and last rule is "No rules", everything is possible for being the last standing people and having nerves of steel.

As I said, I will invite a lot of people and it will be organized because it's once-in-a-life-time party, but even if it will settle on ONE PERSON, I will do it, probably it will be YOU Tongue

The price sucks but like we've said many, many, many times......we are in no rush. I'd worry if we went to the low 100's but the crash is correcting itself now, they couldn't keep us down for long.

If we do go to the moon I will be there buddy, cocaine & hookers all the way. I'm getting some 'narcotics' at the end of the week. I've had a shit week & need to let off some steam. Got threatened with a copyright lawsuit today (in my every day occupation / business).

There is something I've always learned in life, nothing lasts forever and sooner or later, we will reach the real value of Bitcoin, but to reach something like this, the journey MUST be difficult to pay off the reward we want to enjoy, easy come easy go Smiley

Ya, what I was thinking of is taking you and if anybody will join from the Airport, hit the beach by driving around 1-2 hours by max., enjoy all the life's sins on a private yacht and celebrate all the shit we had seen and will see in the coming years.

I hope you solve all your copyright issues safely and away from courts and these shit.

Relax guys, they are processing withdrawals manually over at BFX. Your withdrawal order will be processed with great care and will arrive at destination sometimes this... year.

Or a few years later. Courts are pretty slow.

It's processing trades, though.

So if people wan´t at least try to withdraw their coins i guess they would have to close their positions first.

100k+ BTC long vs. 20k BTC short

Do the math    Undecided

100k-20k=80k

80k/Yx3,14=$32000 coins!!!

What if Bitfinex doesn't have enough coins to pay everyone if they all withdraw at the same time? They might go offline and keep saying they will reopen sometime in the future like Gox did. I don't think Bitfinex has ever done a proof of reserves, or has it?

Wow, just imagine if only a few thousand of Finex coins could get withdrawn and hit Bitstamps or Krakens empty orderbook during the next bear raid!
We all know that the network will get spammed by coinwallet.eu with a resulting 30d delay in transactions in 6 days, so any sane person would put it on a exchange now instead of putting it into coldwallet, maybe inca and LFC will but who else?

Stamp shows at least ~ 1,7m (~9000BTC) in bids before we go to double digits!

BULLISH!

What if they simply had some technical stuff they needed to fix?

i'm just going by what their twitter says.

Somewhere out there there must be a customer relations manual stressing the importance of only making announcements on downtime etc. in chats, private emails and 3rd party sites - never on the service's own announcement page! And someone must have sent free copies to all the exchange operators.

No XT fud?

XT is just a lame excuse used by bullscammers for the current drop . The real reason is, as always, scammin exchanges and most important  no one buyin or puttin additional money into a technology no one is usin beside a few criminals. Price has only been held up by fake buy orders on Finex with BTC used as collateral. Now that they are dying, we will discover the "real" price. Call me when Bistamp has more than 5-10m, in it´s orderbook,  then i might buy again....

I don't have your phone number. Can I PM instead?

Well, on Twitter they said: "Trading has resumed. We'll update everyone with more detail as to what happened shortly."

Usually, with Bitcoin exchanges, statements like these mean they will never tell any outsider what happened exactly.

If you have half a brain it's time to short, check out the resistance line at bitfinex. Expect either a huge pump (insanely ulikely) or a dump.

This tweet is the nearest thing to a statement that I could find. It suggests their trading engine's database is corrupt, and there has already been a complaint from one of their customers that his balance is not correct. I've not found a proper official statement anywhere yet, only that tweet.

I believe them as much as I believe they actually had $30million ready to buy BTC.
