Well, this is nerve-racking... Up and down and up and down again...

Without the stupid BCH/BTG/S2X forkathon, we could have already achieved 5-digit values. OTOH, maybe all this is a good thing. Let them come. The harder they hit, the stronger BTC becomes.

Unlike traditional banking where clients have only a few account numbers, with Bitcoin people can create an unlimited number of accounts (addresses). This can be used to easily track payments, and it improves anonymity.

Naw, just pulling your chain a bit. Tongue

Hehe... yeah I'm a head case for sure. Too bad once the rubberband gets stretched far enough, it never goes back to the same shape it was before. Tongue

Btw, you have to be at the top of the list for one of the most likeable people here. You kinda fill that hole that Adam left behind. Cheers brother.  Grin

still waiting on butterfly lab$ to ship!

I hope their former management are doomed to live a life of mediocrity, until they die from wasting away due to some horrifying malignant disease.
Whatever happened to them? Last I heard they had gotten their pants sued off or something.

On Electrum you go on Coins tab and you spend them from there, one by one. Didn't you know that?  Wink

I was a Core man, but have been using Electrum recently and have been quite impressed. Watching-only wallets, like Armory offers, was a deal sealer for me.

Who would have thought that the most comprehensive, deep, and balanced review yet written about the upcoming S1X/S2X split would have come from the mainstream media? Laura Shin of Forbes knocks one out of the park.

https://www.forbes.com/sites/laurashin/2017/10/23/will-this-battle-for-the-soul-of-bitcoin-destroy-it/#477c05213d3c

Even more fun from the fallout:

http://www.trustnodes.com/2017/10/26/blockstreams-business-plan-revealed-profit-transaction-fees

Adam Back reveals Blockstream's plans to make bank off of enabling sidechains. You know, those things that are necessitated by an insane centrally-planned production quota on blockspace, which leads to transaction capacity limitations upon the main chain.

Everybody is allowed to make and sell BTC sidechains including big blocktards that still hold BCH.

Yes, I agree that this is a decentralized, permissionless environment. Accordingly, anyone is able to implement what they damned well please.

What seems new here is an open admission by Blockstream CEO that their business plans are predicated directly on Blocking the Stream.

As if we hadn't already surmised...

Adam Back‏ @adam3us  12h12 hours ago
because the "anonymous" hashpower is @BITMAINtech that's why. @JihanWu is undermining the value of his large BCH hodlings by centralising it

for example if @BITMAINtech were asked to freeze it, mechanically they could because they're majority of the hash rate.

being in central control of a coin is risky for you, and makes the coin less valuable because people understand that risk of freeze.

for BCH that may be ok as a medium security slightly higher scale, on-chain only retail coin, and his choice. but for Bitcoin that is NOT ok

Blocking the Stream... Well, did you derive this nonsense from Blockstream?

Trolling corporate interest in the space is a righteous time-honoured tradition. I trolled Blockstream for a good while, it didn’t get me anywhere—compared to the DCG they might as well be saints.

But I’m still watching…

Deep movie voice: In a world lorded over by corporate gargoyles, one man could sort of appreciate how having one of your own might be a necessary evol.  Undecided

Sorry. BFL Corp took the fall with SEC. I think one person had a 30k fine for mining issues
on site. From what I understand they otherwise kept all the ill gotten BTC.

Every once in a while I think back to the shady exchange that absconded with my Litecoins. Still irks me. I can imagine how some of these scoundrels still get your goat. 3 years may be an eternity in crypto, but it all feels like yesterday to me.

Here's my spot-on prediction from the heady days of 2015.
Bitcoin is too expensive to pump now. I honestly don't expect it back above 300USD. But revolution doesn't come cheap. I ain't mad at it
Not sure if I really believed that. But I was really prepared to accept it.

Edit: Here's what I know now I didn't know then. Bitcoin isn't a censorship resistant value transfer protocol. It's a piece of land on which censorship resistant value transfer occurs. It's real estate. And I'm a rent-seeking land owner. Just like R0ach said I was. Cheesy

Happy Friday Bitcoinland!

His account got hacked or something like that. And he didn't bothered to get his sh!t back. Something like that, that's the short version, ask him the longer version on the other place. Smiley
