Can we just not let the arguing with jbreher polarize sides as if there was no middle more reasonable field?

Bitcoin is scaling the right way. But that doesn't mean it won't have a moderate and reasonable block size increase in the (near?) future.

L2 is the way to go, but block size will also need some (linear, not exponential as that's what L2 is for) capacity upgrade sometime.
Hear, hear, couldn't agree more.

I don’t think the need is conclusive yet - and the trade offs are significant.  Let’s see how we go.

Once a transaction has 6 confirmations, it is extremely unlikely that an attacker without at least 50% of the network's computation power would be able to reverse it.

Does anyone else see bitcoinwisdom showing large price swings on high volume these week but then upon refreshing remove all trace of it without proof it ever happened with the price flattish?

Is it bugged?

Edit;

Now every refresh the last hourly volume bar drops to zero and starts recounting from zero. Very strange.

you using bitcoinwisdom.com or bitcoinwisdom.io ?

To be honest I am not as up to date with the technical development as I used to be.  I agree that we'll have to see how far technological scaling will take us for the foreseeable future (I had already updated my quoted post before I saw your reply).

BTC@ 3800$ -----> 1BTC = 1BTC

BTC@ 5000$------>1BTC = 1BTC

foreseeable future

BTC@ 20 000$---->1BTC = 1BTC

BTC@ 100 000$--->1BTC = 1BTC

And the story continuous Cheesy Cheesy

Mic add "% of how many new multimillionaires" here in WO thread when BTC touching $100K mark Cheesy I would say 50-60% new BTCmillionaires.

Rule yourself, bitserve, LFC out from this list, your status is a quite clear and good amount of regulars too.

Ruling out JJG, Jimbo, Fabulous BOB and hat maker (xhomerx10) and many silent watchers who are already millionaires with the current price of BTC

Chances are roach is secret BTC hodler too. Huh

I don't really know, we still are Online Persons and you cannot make any state on what some are saying.... but I do think that many of the regulars are really involved with BTC, I do think from some of having a healthy stash, but also further on the forum are some peeps with healthy stashes IMO, like in collectibles, I don't know for META they probably are to busy with the value of trust and merit instead of BTC....
But nonetheless if  1BTC = 100K then much will be clearer and I hope for all the posters and talkers that they really do ACCUMULATE and not only post and DREAM....
cause when BTC takes off it will not wait for no one, if r0ach is just a bit smart (what he sometimes look like) then i hope for him he just has a few in BTC, just for the you never know, also HM will make it just fine the way he operates, but also many more from here, I think infofront, mindrust, ivomm, and very many of the people with those HATs are truly BTC 's  (sorry for not writing all the names, but its just to long).... still there will also be some guys just typing and thinking, whiteout investing.... the guys with normal jobs and pay grade will always find it difficult to smart invest, cause many of them are sitting with the thought of what if.
Now for few of my real good friends that are in BTC around 3500$ and bought all the way to the top of 20k i'm very proud cause they kept buying all the DIPs, with lots of complaining because it came out of their wage slavery and they where a little afraid, but they kept reading and learning and when we where @the last bottom 3.1K they really knew they where buying a very unique scarce asset, and they kept buying so I cheer them very much, also I saw those that has lost and yeah just were not interested anymore.... But that's how every cycle and bearmarket will evolve, new strong hands/hodlers etc

Also still to be multimillionaire @ 100K you will need 20 BTC at least so for those that wishes to achieve that goal, keep accumulating if not NR isn't reached yet, and with previous post and so on I have a pretty good assumption of LFC's and bitserve's stash, but i'm not curious and will never ask, its just personal and private...

So how many new will there be, absolute NO idea...

How could we argue we won't need *some* blocksize increase in the near future if demand keeps growing?

Yeah, LN still need to start absorbing more Tx's which would free some blockspace but... still.

Ohhhh, Peter's bullish.

Either from Dec '18 low or from retest of same (circa analog dbl bottom in 2015) it would not surprise me if $BTC enters a new parabolic phase. $btcusd

I guess you never know what kind of funky technology could be developed ( stuff like channel factories, mimblewimble sidechain etc., hopefully without too many trade-offs), but I agree it is very likely that L1 needs to scale, especially for LN as is conceived at the moment (and of course even more so for people that want to perform regular btc txs).

no

.com has been abandoned for 2 years or so, no updates no fixes (still shows BTC-e ffs)

.io is a clone someone else started where they actually keep up with changes in the feed APIs and such

Yeah, if you poke around on .com you will find that some coins on some exchanges do not work, presumably due to changes in the data feed configurations that have gone unaddressed.

The latest rally of Bitcoin’s price has caused the volume of CME Bitcoin futures contracts to surge, trading upwards of $683 million.
This marks an increase of around 950 percent since the beginning of the month.

Well, Rick is off jet-setting around the globe, somewhere, to attend some fancy event, and I'm left home alone this weekend.

Thinking of consuming 7mg of dried mushrooms and talking to Jah and The Flying Spaghetti Monster tonight.

What could possibly go wrong ?

Go out eating something with a fellow coiner, that what me and my GF are doing this evening Smiley
