If anyone believes that rampant and unchecked criminality in a marketplace

inspires confidence in what is being traded there

have fun buying as long as you last.

If anyone actually believes that it's possible to have a free market without people trying to exploit it
have fun living in this unfair world.

Guys guys i thought we all agreed to sit in circles and sing Kumbaya. So who took my sandwich out of the fridge?

Well, usually  free markets have law enforcement and criminals can face

consequences. This gives traders confidence in the integrity of the markets.

But this is totally absent from the bitcoin market which is one of the main

reasons why bitcoin has no volume and keeps tanking.

Presenting opinion as fact is great isnt it! Smiley

Or maybe they don't want the price to fall and that's why they wait until the banks are closed. People who want to withdraw their funds from the exchange fast will buy bitcoin because fiat wouldn't get transferred until Monday.

Very interesting idea.

This. And it is brilliant.

Well thank you, gentlemen. (。◕‿‿◕。)
To be honest, I don't even care that much anymore whether the price goes up or down but I'd really like it to start already.
Come on Bitstamp, launch the site or admit it's not happening but for God's sake don't keep everyone waiting for eternity.

It's not even that underhand... sort of. Standard trick for regular companies is to get news out while the markets are closed. Probably not a bad thing to prevent panic trading/withdrawals.

The bitcoin tribe is filled with people that live on short memory. Once Stamp will (if) reopen their whorehouse, people will be like " Uhhhh, it was not so bad. " and they will continue to trade there. I remember this happening with Mintpal and other exchanges. They will stay until the website will be hacked again and closed forever and that will be the moment they learned a lesson.

But of course, things could go differently.

that is amazing that you think the same thing that i think and we are both right that either bitstamp goes to complete hell eventually or things could go differently. it's just like bitcoin prediction for january that we think it will stay sideways although it might go up or there is a possibility it could go down. if you want you all can subscribe to my newsletter where i send out predictions like these weekly .

Nah, the last part was me trying to avoid looking arrogant.

You can remove this "But of course, things could go differently. " . The past events always confirmed me the "short term memory" problem. I'm ready to look like a dick if the opposite happens in the case of StampGox.

we gonna be looking back on these days of people getting goxed and stamped as 'remember those days when there was no regulations, security, or anything" .. and we will remember how crazy we all were trying to trade bitcoin on all these 'fly by night in moms basement' exchanges . the good ole days of bitcoining when you could still mine a full bitcoin with only a few terrahashes. like how people used to use teachers school linux accounts to get to the internet and create hidden directories in their school hard drives to hide all the latest warez so they could go upload them to their favorite bbs for download points because there was no security at all.

No, it's a value judgement. Sometimes those are appropriate too.
