Why is there a lot of phone discussion all of a sudden ? Probably cuz of the damn holiday in the US today and thus the boring market as a result.

If you don't want to use the apple ecosystem then it is perhaps not the best choice. You sort of have to go with the flow.
the flow looks like the same people keep on buying the next big thing shit Apple spits out That is not really relevant to what I wrote.

Once the IOS vs Android retardation starts... Examples below: It's almost impossible to stop it... I love it! At least it distracts me from this obsolete cryptotrash currency called bitcoin.

Why is there a lot of phone discussion all of a sudden ? because phones might make a difference for adoption, since they make it the daily use of BTC easier?

No, people would not line up and pay $600+ unless they also called it iPoop. The logo alone would not be enough to convince people.

The big question really is how does Apple justify charging their high prices when their products are so pathetic. My Sony XperiaZ Ultra retails for about the same as an iPhone but it is packed with high-end features. It's waterproof to 3 feet for 30 minutes. It can be charged inductively. It accepts micro-SDXC cards (128GB for now, up to 2TB later) in addition to the onboard storage, and comes with drive-mounting software pre-installed, making it easy to attach HDDs, SSDs, or multicard readers through USB. Its 7" display is 1080p. Of course it has the usual quad-core CPU and 2GB of RAM. Just a few days ago I wanted to give a friend a copy of "The Rise and Rise of Bitcoin" but we couldn't find an easy way to copy the MP4 file from my Xperia to his iPhone. It seems his iPhone would accept neither a USB nor an Apple "Lightning" cable. I suggested copying it onto his SD card with a cardreader from my PC. Oops, no SD slot in the iPhone. It seems that much of the iPhone snobbery is akin to overpaying for a small portion of mediocre food in a trendy restaurant. It's all about conspicuous consumption. Look at me. I can afford to pay $600 for something that's not worth $100. _____ Meanwhile back on topic, there's very little price movement tonight so far, so I think I'll go out and have a few cold ones. Not because I want to be seen paying 3 times as much as at the store, but because it comes with extra features like live music and pretty women.

Conspicuous consumption is taking hold here in the Philippines. Fortunately they fight back against corporatists with strict school uniforms and lots of counterfeiting. I am hopeful that the Philippines will be one of the first nations to really embrace Bitcoin.

The difference between the expensive restaurant and Apple products is the restaurant food isn't guaranteed to be inferior to its competition.

It's interesting that you mentioned school uniforms. I always considered the iPhone's core market to be 12-year-old schoolgirls.

I see people trading on their android devices and getting their account hacked but rarely see iPhones get hacked. If you have ever submitted an app to apple you know the standards for submission - often taking more than a month to get accepted. To the developers/techy people on this forum it means nothing and pisses you off but for the other idiots (like me) we need limitations. Similar to Myspace and FaceBook, Myspace decided to give everyone the ability to edit their fucking page while Facebook limited it. Soon people had put so much bullshit on their pages the shit ran so slow it became unusable. Regulation is good sometimes in life and if the decentralized Bitcoin gets adopted we need something that is safe for the idiots.
