Just wondering, how does our current rate of increase compare with that which we saw prior to the last ATH in 2013?  Say, average $/day increase in the month preceding ATH?

(EDIT: I didn't phrase that very well. Just wondering what the average daily rise was in the month preceding $1175]

after this little skirmish i'm thinking straight up to 850ish.

7 or 14 days of this kind of action and we'll at 3000$

What will make btc increase so quickly and to 3k in your opinion? I'd love to see that.

well 2013 was a complete different market. Just open a chart and take a look on the weekly chart. the 2013 pump was twice/three times faster I would say~

Also keep in mind when you compare the current pump with the 2013 attempt:
-We kept printing all time highs when we broke 250$. (we don't do that currently) -> no bag holders
-there was almost no margin trading going on -> today almost everybody is trading with some kind of margin, is it 2x ~ 5x (or even higher on futures.
-there was almost no short trading possible. -> I am sure there are many daytraders ready to pull the short trigger once the situation allows it.
-There where much less coins in circulation.
-Willy bot actively pumped the price. (Who knows if something similar is going on right now as well.)

If you keep all these things in mind, the current pump is even more impressive. But because of all these reasons I don't expect it to reach 1200$ with the current run.

I was just thinking about that sort of thing.

In spring of 2011, the doubling of prices took days. In winter/spring of 2013 it took a week or 2. In autumn of 2013 it took weeks.

This time it's taken 4 months.

This rally is just getting started.

Sure. Lots of people did that on the way down from $1163 back in the end of 2013. I know I did. Glad I held on to them.

Yeah... dumbfbrankings is a troll and trying to shed a negative light on a common practice, whether those supra $700 BTC purchases were more than 2 years ago or taking place in current times.

And, likely there are a whole hell of a lot of folks currently buying BTC in this $700 to $770 price range, and seem to have very decent chances of cashing out at higher prices (such as in the $800s or even higher ), possibly within the next 24 hours.. we will see.

You would probably be more glad if you had sold them and bought them back at $200.

Thanks for answer tho, anybody from this 2016 run?

@JJG I am this close to putting you on ignore for your trolling and insubstantial posts.

Yes, I bought 5 coins at 850 EUR which was close to 1000 USD in end of November 2013.
Hopefully I bought most of my coins between 200 and 400.
I have never sold BTC, only bought.

You are a goofball, dumbfbrankings.

And, if you don't have any BTC, you better consider buying some in this price range...

Sure it is possible that we will experience sub $700 again, but it is not guaranteed.
