is this BitcoinCore/USD and BitcoinUnlimited/USD on Bitfinex.com?

it's been there for months.

True, since I opened an account there a few months ago they already had those pairs. Also hitbtc has a BTU they call Bitcoin Unlimited. I guess we already have a prediction of what prices will be when the chain splits.

Can someone please explain the difference, and the backstory?

Will $2000 hold?
Some lucky few will get some real cheap coins if it doesn’t. Will it matter?

I don't know how accurate this story is, but if China's Sichuan Province really is banning Bitcoin mining maybe that's another factor in the dip. It's a new twist, China "bans" Bitcoin mining instead of China "bans" Bitcoin.

Reports have emerged detailing the alleged forceful cessation of large-scale bitcoin mines in China’s southwest, with insiders quoting a lack of state-sanctioned regulatory policy regarding cryptocurrency mining as the official reasoning cited for such.

They're really stupid if they believe we can't see that hashrate is still increasing.  Roll Eyes

The Fed raised rates today. So there's that.

No more free ride for hot money?

It could be a combination of factors. Bitfinex is lower than stamp and seems to be leading the dip. Someone's dumping coins on finex.

Wouldn't be surprised to see a lot of hot money dumping btc to run and start accumulating that IOTA crap, whatever the hell that is.  They'll accumulate at 0.50c for a while, then start pumping it.

Altlandia: what a complete farce of a shitshow market that is.

Still, the volume is quite good.

Many thousands of coins are dumped over the past hours, but the price moved just 10%. There might still be life in the overarching trend a while longer.

Now we have a bunch of n00bs who just bought bitcoins for the first time thinking "I thought the price only goes up 10x". They will panic sell within the month to pay bills unless we reach new highs. But those n00bs are also panic thinking "just let it get back to my original investment so I can sell and go back to my meager life of no risk"

When we hit $2900 or so I got a text from a friend I hadn't heard from in a while. He'd heard Bitcoin had skyrocketed. I guess it really is the future, he said.

"Well," I said. "People are gonna get rekt!"

True story.

Looks like most of the alts markets are not doing too well either. So much for trying to hedge with Alts.
