I would say that's about right based in it's current value relative to its inbred cousins.

I must have forgotten to save the link to the tracking of coinbase user accounts. I think it was Torque who posted it. Anyone kind enough to share it again.
Hey man! Yeah, they have a tally right on their home page, just scroll down a bit where it says "customers served". Currently at 12.8M accounts. It looks like they added ~400K accounts in just about the past week or two. I'm hoping they can average ~1M new accounts per month all through next year. Thanks, you had found and posted a historical chart as well. Was hoping to see this to get an idea of user adoption on a time scale. If you don't have it saved, I'll just scroll through your posts for the past month or so. Here's the only one I've seen. I'm not sure where you can find a live updated version. Too bad, I thought it was a live version. Anyhow I guess this will have to do for historical. Snapshots from the waybackmachine https://web.archive.org/web/*/https://www.coinbase.com/aboutLooks like coinbase (according to them) have registered 400K users in the last week! Lift off? CONbase has so many users registered since the pump up in price of bitcoin because it is simply to buy bitcoin or ethereum from them for that matter without any sort of verification. You can grab around 0.01btc with just a credit card number. That is why.

What the hell is a tether even?
Tether, a virtual currency that is supposed to be tied — or tethered — to the value of a dollar. Customers can buy Tether coins on Bitfinex and then transfer them to other virtual currency exchanges, providing a way to move dollars between countries without going through banks. Tether has also become a very popular way to buy Bitcoin. In recent weeks, a few hundred millions dollars’ worth of Tether has changed hands on a daily basis across several exchanges, according to data on CoinMarketCap.com. Tether and Bitfinex have insisted that the two operations are separate. But leaked documents known as the Paradise Papers, which were made public this month, show that Appleby, an offshore law firm, helped Mr. Potter and Mr. Devasini, the Bitfinex operators, set up Tether in the British Virgin Islands in late 2014. One persistent online critic, going by the screen name Bitfinex’ed, has written several very detailed essays on Medium arguing that Bitfinex appears to be creating Tether coins out of thin air and then using them to buy Bitcoin and push the price up. EDIT: From NY Times. ...that sounds like another fuckin willy. Welp, if bitcoin tanks then clowncoin is likely to go up, and then I'll have enough fiat for a few years. Whatever, let the idiots play their stupid games.

What the hell is a tether even?
Remember how Homero Joshua Garza guaranteed a $20 floor for PayCoin ? It's sorta like that, except that they apparently have "investors" that are backing every $1 USDT/BTC. In theory. Nailed it my friend! lol

Not sure I follow all the sudden doom and gloom about it. r/buttcoin has been trying for years to blow up the tether tangle. Some hacker absconds with worthless tokens and suddenly the whole show is a facade? Where is this all coming from?

Changelly accepts BTG. Has anyone used them? They look reputable, and cool too. https://changelly.com/I'm drooling for some more BTC from the BTG airdrop I got today. Or should I wait for an imminent BTG super-pump? Used them quite a bit. 9/10 always good and reasonably quick. Occasionally they have delays with LTC or even BTC when Jihan Wu decides to play Bitcoin God. Thanks, good to know. Because Kraken don't list BTG yet, and even if they did, they are almost unusable lately... Yea fucky kraken stealing our money from bitcoin gold, still No news about it.. I just split mine off with Ledger.... check Sent to Bittrex... check set ridiculous sell order...check wait for pump. Patience ...no hurry.... sell order will fill... eventually....they always do in crypto ...free money Pay attention. This is how you day trade. Set your limit orders and then go to the beach. If you have to place a market order, it means you are behind the market and not in front of it. This means you are doing it wrong.

They could not be reopening USD wires for USA little people, because the kicked all the USA little peeps off of their platform as of November 9. I just logged into my Bitfinex account, because I was confused into thinking that there could perhaps be something going on or perhaps some kind of welcoming mat for me; however, I got a message reminded me that I have some kind of USA affiliated status, and therefore, I need to discontinue using any of their services as expeditiously as possible. I think that I am safe, in the non-usage of their services, because I confirmed that my account still has zero value, and I had removed all value as of about the third week of October.

We've all seen the trading numbers FFS! JP Morgan Chase is one of the biggest BTC traders...even if it is "only" buying for their clients.
