I really don't get all this talk about withdrawing dollars from Gox.  I know my money has been in Gox for a long time and I have no intention of withdrawing it.  I invested in Bitcoin with that money and that is where it will stay.  I could move to Bitstamp but the green homepage is almost unbearable to look at and there is almost no action over there.  I buy and sell on Gox because that's where the big price moves happen.  I go back and forth between Dollars and BTC but why would I withdraw?  I am guessing the whales are in the same situation. Its all about acquiring more Bitcoin and Gox is where the action is.

It takes a special kinda retard to invest like this. Whats the problem guys it is just and exchange that you cant use to exchange?.. nothing to see here folks move along. If people are stupid enough to use the strategy you deserve to lose your money.

Retard? People sure get brave when they're sitting behind a computer.  The exchange worked great.  I exchanged my dollars for Bitcoin.  If I wanted dollars, I would have just kept them in the first place.

Hm, its new for me. However, what the heck is localbitcoins and why do they have so much depth and volatility? lol.

--Damn, quite a lot of selling on bitstamp. Looks like they reacted to the slow drop on Gox and now its the other way around.

Last time stamp was the leader of the drop. Repeat?

I noticed bitcoinity added localbitcoins and the volatility is insane if true.  Shocked
How can one buy on Gox and sell on localbitcoins? If it were simple, there shouldn't be such a crazy volatility.
I mean, it looks like profits from arbitrages could reach 30%!  Shocked

I noticed this happening on Tuesday during the dDOS attack that shut down MtGox for a few hours. Even when trading resumed and current bids asks and recent trades were shown on MtGox and Bitcoincharts, both i286 and CM were slow to resume. I wondered if it had something to do with their API.

Currently i286 and CM aren't showing recent trades but both Bitcoincharts and Bitcointicker are updating just fine for me. Hmmm.

what the heck is localbitcoins and why do they have so much depth and volatility?

I was surprised when I first saw LocalBitcoins listed as an exchange on Bitcoincharts.

It isn't really an exchange. It's more like an online Satoshi Square, a place for strangers to meet face-to-face to trade bitcoins and fiat anonymously.

It was my only source for the anonymous purchase of bitcoins last winter before I discovered Virtex. Since Virtex has introduced client identification rules for fiat deposits and withdrawals, it may soon become my principal portal for anonymous bitcoins again. I've since opened a second Virtex account with my name on it, using an email account from a different ISP in a different municipality in Ontario for those times when anonymity is not important.

Needless to say, asks are high, bids are low, and there are usually tighter limits.

I dont say things I wouldn't say to any ones face. You got it right it worked (past tense) great. You are living in the past that was then this is now.

Those coins on gox aren't yours they are gox's coins until they hit your wallet
