and then...
Either some early adopter coins come out of cold storage and appear on the exchanges, or else we enter a phase where the only coins available for purchase every day come from the newly-mined coins that miners choose to sell.

People are trading on MtGox because they have no choice now. You can't get your bitcoins out of the exchange. You can't move USD out in a timely manner.

Check this tread for the growing waves of bitcoins 'stuck in the ether'.

I have done a test of 1.1 bitcoins 3 hours ago and paid the 0.001 btc fee to speed it up. No sign of it on the blockchain, but my balance dropped immediately.

So if you wanted to send the coins to your wallet or to bitstamp, you shite out of luck right now. Maybe he will allow it when the coins are back under 100 usd.

.

So if nothing is getting in/out of gox.... I wonder why it's keeping any kind of parity at all? It's an isolated market of IOUs.

Good morning from Europe.

WHAT?Huh??

Damn!!!!!

The day before yesterday when there was a huge bid wall, I didn't sell anything, and so missed out on a nice retraction. Yesterday I sold some, and the retraction never came! It just continued stampeding after a day of sideway. Now I am twitchy about buying back in.

I bought back at a small loss, there is room for growth about 50$ - 100$ IMO.
China is leading strong, although they are climbing too fast now and might have a local crash.

From what I know, only $ fiat exchange has issues in Gox. I personally have traded in euros (many times) and had no problems whatsoever.

I'm starting to freak out a little bit... Take a look at the asks in all markets, a few K's until 300, then NOTHING.
This means that if we break 300 and NO new BIG whales appear there is no support at the top, we could repeat what happened in april, more than doubling in one day (from 300) and then...

$1.6 million to $300/BTC on gox
$0.8 million to $300/BTC on stamp

So, probably a stupid question to ask to all the bulls, but do you think there's a chance we see 300 today? Should I rebuy back at a loss?

Can you find a time (excluding the current run up which is still playing out) when we passed a previous all time high and didn't at least double?

At what point do the gox fiat holders freak out at the diminishing bitcoin orderbook and just panic buy to get out? Time to put some gas on this fire.
Bitstamp is even worse in terms of BTC available for purchase.

If the increasing prices don't lure some more coins onto the orderbook soon it's going to get very interesting.

Don't worry, BTCs will come in, miners have to pay their bills after all.

That's only a trickle compared to average daily volume.

Gox is down to 15k BTC for sale.

I'm back in, which probably means that all hell will break loose. The market seems to do the opposite of what I expect from it lately.

Hold that's all you need to do, during the next run you will know how especially if you screwed up this time.
