I understand that eBay will allow buy/sell cryptocoins ads, but will not use Bitcoin themselves. How much will it cost to place an ad in that section? That Classified Ads section will probably be a very slow and very inefficient cryptocoin exchange. Is there trade in other commodities going through eBay? [edited for typos] People have been selling bitcoin there already, I know someone who bought some there as Xmas presents (& yes they were at a ridiculous price, but quick and easy). Buying is quick and easy if you want to pay more. Selling is not. Canceled auctions, Canceled PayPal accounts, chargebacks. It's not much fun that's why there's a huge premium on every auction there.

When people announce "X accepts bitcoin! Pmg!" does this usually just mean that they have started using bitpay? Because if that's all that happens, we are effectively just making the world's largest middle man, not too different from say....PAYPAL.
My question being: Do any of these merchants actually KEEP the fucking btc?
not a significant number, no. that is a good thing. currency is rather different from hard goods. its value is not derived from stock levels, but from flow. no flow, no value. long term holders don't care much about the price, which is a temporary condition resulting from instantaneous supply and demand. they care more about value, which is a long term attractor of price, and determines the sustainable price levels. This is a good point, I hadn't thought of this. And of course my original post neglected to mention the other amazing things about BTC that that Argentinian guy talks about that made me UBERBULL the other day.....I might start watching that video every morning.

I am doing a money laundry and financial crime course : sounds like my old accounting and audit classes ... you do make an intentional error like 'bit invertion' and see what happens ...

maybe you can sell the BTC without being verified. but for sure you'll need verification to withdraw to a bank

... the cage door on the bear trap is now almost completely shut panic buy-back moment by bears is going to be the most lulz and precious moment i've had in some while history only rhymes it never repeats exactly. It's easy to lose sight of the long term bad news from confirmed sources fundamentals that indicate taking a strong SHORT position. Small upward price wobbles, and unconfirmed "good" news can make it seem like bitcoin has staying power, and that its value might be higher in the future, but when you get that feeling, it's important to revisit good verified bad news sources from confirmed sources. That should help get you back to fundamentals, which in the case of bitcoin are bad, as confirmed by good sources of bad news. If you're already in a highly leveraged SHOTR position, the thing to do, if you're correctly aligned with fundamentals, and if the market seems to be moving against you (which should only be temporary), is to put more money in to protect your SHOTR and keep it going. Since we have so much confirmed news from sources, especially encrypted in non-English language characters like Chinese and Russian, we know that bitcoin is going to violently crash and fall to oblivion, as confirmed.

back to 1k again? Probably not all in one panic attack. There should at least be another downwave which has a higher lower than the last one.
