Excellent summary, fluidjax. The BCH fork is the most important issue at the moment, and your post provides useful perspective. Merited.

I thought I'd spread a little of the opinions and information I've gathered over the last few days about the BCH split.

CSW doesn't want a fork, he currently controls over 51% of the hash on BCH,

(snip)

As a BTC maximalist I want the war to go on for a long time resulting in less cash reserves for both money both Jiahn and CSW. Although the risk to BTC is well over the horizon at the moment, it is no doubt the destruction of BTC that is in both their long games, and whoever wins this hash war will be embolden to collect financial partners/investors (state sponsored?) and eventually turn on BTC.
Indeed. But old school hodlers might still save the day. Or a frictionless lighting network. Or hordes of full nodes running on lightweight machines with lightweight connections. I am hopeful.

Quote
Profit? At this pumped up fork price, I think the only direction for the price is downwards.
Unless one of them capitulates which I don't think is very likely, their will be many large  re-orgs and a major loss in confidence by BCH's holders and users,  exchanges won't allow trading until things settle down, but how long could that be?
I hope exchanges keep bch on their books at least until I close my short with a yuuuge profit  Tongue

On my end, I'm still looking to dump another $1M USD worth of BTC before December 31st, and praying we see a nice bounce above $10k before then.

Not holding out much hope though. Might just have to dump $1M at whatever price for... reasons.

I think Craig Wright hasd gone insane. In the middle of his shitcoin pissing contest he decides to take on Zcrap and Fud Monero as well? What a Tool and a Fool.

He has obviously never read.

yep...but where be the newbies jumping in now for the next pump?

...dang whippersnappers...I remember 'newbies' in my day knew how to toss $$ around for dubious

ASIC equipment and were risk takers!  Gin/Fast Women and BTC!

ASIC stills in everyone's basement!

HODL'ing every dust bit of BTC they could pull off.

All this PUMP and EASY LIVING

and 18K BTC bubble bursting has 'scar'd' their little minds and they ran away.

Well, we need  a run of newbies or the

next crop of BTC in the field is gonna die on the vine!

(frigging newbies with their INTERNET games and youtube cat videos

no concept of the future and their prosperity)

double crap: I can't tell them to 'get off my BTC lawn anymore' I guess we need the a**holes now for volume.

(waves cane around wildly ..farts..sits down)

We don't need any newbies for the price to go back up. In fact I'd say in the last run-up, up until the 1200 ATH, there were not that many newbies coming into it at all. Mainly just the true believers buying their coins as usual. The newbies are what create the bubble, they probably only really started coming into it a few months into 2017.

Eventually the true believers eat up all the sellers coins, and then the price slowly goes back up as only the miners coins are left to purchase. ATH breaks, then come the noobs.

I love how all you buffoons that claimed I was "trolling" 10 months ago when the price was $20k and I said it was going to collapse stabilizing probably around $4200-4400 with a flash crash to $3k are now copying my exact estimate almost word for word.

That's just the short term call.  I still do not believe bitcoin has any future due to transaction validators being designed to centralize and it not being possible to create a decentralized digital currency in the first place.  So the only way the price can go up is not via fundamentals, but only by fraud or by govts trying to force it on people.
