YOu should not take into account the small hodlers like us. What is really critical is what the HUGE hodlers there will do. Well, most of them already have HUGE stashes outside of mtgox... they have already sold whatever they wanted to sell. I don't think they are waiting for the gox reimbursement to sell. My prediction is that most of the gox coins will be hodl... And I voted accordingly.

PSA
make sure you have a regular backup strategy and that it actually works.
in my case a few days ago lost the primary drive in this daily driver, a Samsung 840 pro a bit over 5 years old. took out my installed programs and documents folder. (btc blockchain and games are on separate ssds and i keep a lot of copies of stuff in a 1 TB spinner raid 1 array on this rig, they were and are fine).
however, i had a full drive image 2 weeks old, and a documents backup from the night before. used the opportunity to get a bigger ssd via amazon prime so two days later i image the new drive from backup, copy the documents backup over and i had everything basically back to the proceedings nights status. turns out the old ssd still could access most files and recovered the stuff that i had done that day, minus a few emails in the local copy of outlook. a self test of the 840 pro ssd i ran after this was all over failed. oh, and image and documents backups are on a freenas rig with the equivalent of raid 5.
TL;DR backup regularly, and TEST your backup strategy regularly.

(Not you) makes sense to me that if people got burned big time and swore off btc when mtgox went down they could lose trust and cash out at 1st opportunity. but this is the WO thread. thats why i was surprised, are not most of us here believers in btc? lots of lurkers voted maybe?

Is the majority of the total claim amount part of small claims or large ones?

And yes, there are a few hue (legit) claims that sum the majority of BTC. Ie: Josh Jones of Btcbuilder has like 40000 IIRC.

Ie: Josh Jones of Btcbuilder has like 40000 IIRC. i just looked briefly at a pdf list from 2016, there were a good amount of 3 digit btc claims, and some 4 digit ones too. the bulk seemed to be single or double digits, with a lot of < 1 btc amounts. gonna try to find the latest full list in some sort of excel importable format.

Buitcoinbuilder is not a good example as that claim consists of loads of small ones. Did Bitcoinbuilder ever publish its claim distribution (probably not). I am quite curious where the 80% of aggregate claims fall under, small or large. Makes quite a difference (my assumption thus far has been small).

98% of you likely have your 2FA app on your cell phone. I dont have enough time to explain all the reasons thats a terrible idea... Buy a new IPod touch Create a new Apple ID w/ new email Download Google Authenticator Put IPod in airplane mode Rest easy👍 Authenticator does not require internet. Having it on an offline iPod is almost as good as having every code written down. You also no longer have to worry about your phone being hacked, stolen, lost, etc. It’s $199 for an IPod. Just do it. https://twitter.com/bitcoinbirch/status/1111260251662311429?s=21Trust but verify Goose. Since I am one to argue over semantics I have to point out that the above statement is just NOT true. GA requires an accurate timestamp to generate the authentication code you use in 2fa. If you leave your device unconnected for a period of time it will de-sync with the GA server and leave you with a invalid code. I know this for reasons.. Otherwise the above is pretty good advice..just turn on your device and make sure the update time automatically is checked in your settings..turn off airplane mode..update the time..turn on airplane mode again and use normally. I think its a especially good idea if you have large wallets to have a device that is used only for 2fa and nothing else. Just make sure you back that seed up carefully in case of a dropped phone or other such calamity. Yes, problem for him because he can not create as many as he wants LOL The most meaningful fact about bitcoins is it's limited supply. I disagree. That could be it least important feature. For speculators and get rich quick hopefuls that may be true but for me its having a secure, decentralised and trust less medium to exchange value. These far outweigh its emission features imho. Good morning
WO’s
Good morning. Hi guys, what's up?
I've been hibernating for the past year or so but spring has come and I feel like things are going to start moving soon.
Who's still here observing walls?
Welcome back and I am happy to report that the Wall is still manned. We abide and we observe to the best of our abilities. If some of you are interested, these are some of the places I went to today. -snipped- And I also saw roach. He told me he was waiting for the Bulls... in his own way. +1 WOsMerit Oopsies, I just fomo'ed all over myself Cancelled some old buy orders and now 100% in (again). Go Bitcoin! Lol'd +1 WOsMerit
