U.S congressman "Even the Chinese with their firewall and their extreme intervention in society could not kill #bitcoin..... You can't kill bitcoin" They start to figure that out. And now they also have a good window of opportunity for buying. Will they use it? Naaaah...

IMO the USA could kill or at least seriously harm bitcoin. they could make new rules for fiat gateways and sanctions anyone who run these gateways.

The sane mind will grab any opportunity they get, and those stuck into " G-Old way is the only way" will not. @vroom i doubt about killing, however they can do some damage for sure but only for limited time. in the end its "adapt or die" situation IMO.

With the way things are moving, its anyones guess on which route bitcoin might take and depending on what stimulates the market I foresee BTC taking any one of these routes. Oh boy... woodie +1 You basically covered all the TA, future predictions and every possibility of price with only one chart. Bravo legend next time toxic, wwzsocki or hairy post some chart then post this chart right next to them, just for fun I am a Perma bull and that is why don't want to post bearish short, medium time predictions to not fuel up WO thread heaters . There is only one medium time prediction for BTC which is DOWN to the 7800$ price range or even deeper. We can see some swings, but we are going down and I would start buying back at 7800$ and lower levels if possible. I am still bullish and think that we will bounce back up from 7000$ levels when this correction ends. But if not and we will be going down deeper, then my long term prediction will finally change to bearish . Will update with charts a little later to let you guys better a few of what to expect in next days in my opinion. I am shorting BTC short, medium-term now. Don't mention alts one should short them all because they just getting slaughtered. When BTC goes up, they go down and when BTC goes down, they also go down . This is an ideal situation for BTC to get back, to 90% of the market share and to continue the bull run after this corrections.

IDK, but even 3rd party open source authentication software like GA isn't 100% safe. Recently i reactivated an old coinbase account and switched from SMS2FA to GA2FA, but in the long run, i'll switch to a hardware-key based solution. Maybe my ledger nano can be of some use there, but i don't like to rely on a single device for all crypto-related key storage.
Google authenticator BLOWS, that thing is a piece of shit and you don't have a recovery seed anymore. I only use GA for 2FA, recovery keys (written down) for restore at the exchange if the (smartphone) device fails. BTC are transferred to a cold wallet whenever it's more than 0.1 (or 0.01, 0.001 and so on in the future) and for selling small amounts (also future, only maybe) But i'll sure move on to a better solution. Yeah you can do backups for 10 times for the one issuer, I guess that's good for a device failing, it's a shitty setup though, I guess it's okay. Probably better to use a freshly wiped or a fresh cheap phone with only Google Auth on it that stays in a safe place. That's what I'll do and have backups for security. Good idea. I have a spare old smartphone, reset to factory default, that i can use without a sim card. Runs for more than a week in airplane mode, that should do it - without the need for daily recharge. ...but i have to disable/re-enable 2FA on my exchange accounts, that's a bit shitty, since GA won't let me migrate.

This twitter dude, recently quoted by smartcomet, has some other interesting charts: https://twitter.com/CL207Introducing Marketcap/GoogleTrend ratio. Bitcoin is in the stealth phase of its bull run. Usually public interest do not pick up until the previous all-time high has been smashed. Expanding pain. This meme... Strikes again.. he said 9200 July... This could actually be true. Someone pointed out to me that low 9000 is the maximum pain zone for both bulls and bears.

do you not copy the seed code or the qt code tyhat it initially gives you and keep it in a safe place or places? i like the fact that the ONLY copy of the seed is in your possession alone and your responsibility to keep safe. as in not your seed code copy alone (as in only you have the only copies and not some cloud based crap), not your 2FA. ive changed phones (breakage, nothing salvageable) and my paper backups of the google auth codes had me back up and running on the new phone in no time. not to mention there are pc versions of google auth you can use in a time critical situation.

It's a scammer tard post. No, the price is not going to $100k while post halving cost of production is $6k because nobody will pay that much for one of your coins if they can just mine one for $6k instead. And global mining is already enormous with no way to increase by an order of magnitude to prop up the price because it would then use more power than the entire United States. For the last Bitcoin pump and dump scam that was engineered by the criminal owners of Bitfinex and their tethers, they sent it to 7x cost of production to $20kish and then it immediately imploded and crashed down to cost of production again. If the owners of Bitfinex are not arrested and put in prison, it's always possible they could attempt the same scam all over again, but it's damn sure not going to $100k no matter how much Bitfinex and Tether fraud they throw at it.

Perfect pre-halving FUD from the US authorities. Whatever the news its also naturally part of the story to sell off while we are a year off halving block reward. It was too soon to rally like that especially when halving is not a precise event in terms of its market supply of new coins but a transition to a lower available amount over time. I am going to be a bit worried if we drop below $7k. 6k area is fine, I kinda expect this area needs to confirm itself as a base long term for the best bullish case. I put that down as a guess for quarterly price because the charts always overshoot in both directions but its only when volume comes in and confirms a price below what should have been support, then its a bit more worrying. I think the ceiling and the support areas tend be magnetic or sticky in attracting attention and so market orders come in there and eventually so does the price however briefly it might be.

While a recovery mechanism is ... convenient ... it is also another attack vector. You always have the option of backing up each service's seed key as you create them.
