I think the NHS is also down a lot of money thanks to Brexit.
Hm. Wonder when the horde of diseased refugees will try to invade Ireland. They may need a wall.
Brexit hasn't actually happened yet. Although UK formally left the EU on 31st January, in remains subject to EU regulations during a transition period which will end on 31 December 2020. Given the current situation, it's probable that that date will be pushed back, so until then UK is, in effect, still in the EU. On a side note, it's interesting to see how quickly the EU nations reinstated their old borders as soon as some panic came along. No freedom of movement (one of the EU's pillars) now....

Hey Spammie Layer?
Conspiracy theory of the day - Lambie Slayer is actually the person he claimed to slay. The state can no longer afford the experimental meds that turned the tide back in the day. One week before we get goatse and Chinese astronaut cartoons again. Like. Here is another: Never imagined that "new world order" would be something like this. #locked_down But then again, maybe I wasn't paying much attention when watching Idiocracy.
I don't care about the virus so much as the effect it is having on my inability to purchase alcohol.
I know you said it's illegal there, but I bet that WO can help you. Give us a phony public address or something and a non-existent name (actually Mr. Nut Ildah would do great). Don't know your resources. Then we can send you a bottle each. Some should reach you. No?

By the way, jbreher.., since I have you "on the line"....
It must have been some damned busy weeks for you since about early to mid March and thereafter keeping up with your buy/sell orders.
Busy? Naaaah. It takes about 12 seconds to place a contrasting order whenever a standing order is hit. So, should volatility take us five notches in a day, I've spent an entire minute on ladder maintenance. I don't know if I should believe you, or not. Of course, I believe you in the sense that I believe that you are actually doing it, and that you are making profits, but in terms of the level of your efficiency.. i have my skepticism. Sure, you might be a robot in terms of your resetting of your orders, and maybe you have various parameters that either you do not need to tweak or that such tweaking is also somewhat systematic (thus requiring little to no thought). Mostly the latter. Since retiring, the bulk of my income is derived from Bitcoin volatility. IOW, I am taking my profits in USD. Goes up? Sell N Bitcoin at each rung. Goes down? Buy N Bitcoin at each rung. The rungs are equally-spaced. N=N. So it takes about twelve seconds to enter the corresponding counter order. So far, I have been taking profits in BTC, or at least, folding all dollars back into BTC purchases, and I am tentatively considering the funding of my lifestyle.. the taking of profits in dollars as a separate endeavor, that will likely start to happen in the coming few years. I suppose maybe by the time I get to the stage of overall withdrawing dollars rather than stacking sats, then I would be also taking profits in dollars, too... but that still should not be changing how much time it would take for me to execute trades (or setting up the buy sell orders). I suppose maybe part of my seemingly less efficiency in setting up my buy/sell orders is just that I spend some time trying to investigate what had happened while I was away, exactly, and then making sure that I am doing exactly what I want to do, even though I do have somewhat set buy/sell increments that keep getting triggered. Mine are not at exactly the same intervals, but they are definitely systematic. I am not sure if I spend more time than you contemplating what I am doing, but I did quickly look at my activities since March 1, and it appears that I had about 58 buy orders execute and about 28 sell orders, a bit higher activity level than usual.

I'll just leave this epic rant about the $2T (*cough* $14T *cough*) bailout bill here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D-7uro3A3qUPeople often say, well what can the Average Joe do about it? March? Riot? Revolution? Bitcoin was *literally* created for this reason. It IS the red pill. It IS the Revolution. #BUYBTC and stop participating in the corrupt fiat monetary system.

Good morning Bitcoinland.
Still bouncing along in the mid-$6xxx range... currently $6616USD/$9342CAD (Bitcoinaverage).
Calm before the storm? ____
I've tried to avoid the debate on how to treat gin. I enjoy it with Schwepp's and a twist as well as with Dolin's and an olive and a few drops of the brine.
But Bombay Sapphire for gawd's sake? Isn't that something they use for stripping paint? It's barely better than Beefeater or Gilbey's.
To rank it above Tanqueray is a sacrilege and Tanqueray is just middle-of -the-road. I prefer Hendrick's (especially Orbium) for a more subtle, refined taste and Gordon's for full-on honest juniper goodness.
I'll take a pass on that novelty bluebottle beginner's crap, thank you.
That said, I do have a half a bottle of it in my bar here and gin's not usually available out here in the jungle. I don't want to go anywhere near a city or tourist destination until this Covid-19 crap blows over so I may be forced to use it if I run out of Orbium, Hendrick's, Gordon's and Tanqeray.
Got lots of Dolin's, Noilly Prat and Martini&Rossi though. Olives aren't a problem. High-quality jumbo stuffed manzanilla olives might take a trip to a city though.
Out here I don't think they've ever heard of quinine water. Pity. During a stifling heat wave like we're experiencing now, a well-iced Gordon's and Schwepp's would really hit the spot.
Aaah, the hardships of jungle living.

If @erre and @fillippone and whoever else of an Italian sensitivity could now close their ears
I just found an opened packet of wholewheat farfalle with a 2014 best before date at the back of the larder. It too k around 30 mins to soften up and then was perfectly delish with some shop pesto of the same era. /
