I am starting to see that I should really not be recommending bitcoin to my general Facebook friends anymore.
As truly horrible people have proven themselves to be at math, they'd probably end up owning some shitcoin within hours of buying their first bitcoin.
If I were so inclined I would certainly get super rich off of these people. At least I stopped trying to protect their freedom.

Sorry, I have to quote myself on this one: Some people have an obedience fetish. They hate choice and free will. In their idea of a perfect world, everything is either obligatory or forbidden. Nothing pleases them more than telling others what to do or being told what to do. Just where from do you think the power to order others around derives?

Ok Boomers ... <looks around> My main point in a nutshell was ...do what you phukking want, it’s your choice, but imo, don’t phukking smoke...it’s a shitty, unhealthy highly addictive habit you will regret ever starting that stinks up the joint. And you’d be better off buying bitcoin. Somehow my anti- smoking rant posts ended up down some liberal-tarian rabbit hole tangent involving Mao quotes, Godwin, the power to order others around and other stuff I honestly didn't mean to get into. Sorry bro’s, my bad. I knew I shoulda stuck with my normal snarky off topic mocking troll crap replies rather than getting all serious and stuff.....

When reporting COVID-19 deaths, I've recently been noticing that our media here nearly always state that he/she/they died with coronavirus, or their death was linked to coronavirus. They hardly ever state that they died from coronavirus. Something fishy going on ... it's because the testing is so bureaucratically messed up that people who pass away in nursing homes or simply die at home and they don't get an autosopy or post mortem test they cannot officially say Died of COVID-19 ... if anything the official death tolls from COVID are 40-50% below actual but will likely get revised upwards over time when the chaos in hospitals/healthcare/mortuaries subsides.

https://dnyuz.com/2020/04/14/im-an-e-r-doctor-in-new-york-none-of-us-will-ever-be-the-same/compelling reading from the frontlines ... warning deniers don't read this if you want to stay in your bubble. I happened to have been assigned to work at one hospital for a chain of shifts, so I hadn’t been inside one of our other hospitals in over a week. As soon as I open the E.R. doors there, I shrink from the sights and smells. Patients are now triple-bunked into single-person spaces, curtains pushed aside. In one room, three men, who appear to be in their 80s or so, are side by side in their stretchers, each one pulling at his oxygen mask, confused, their frail limbs swinging in the air. Some have sat in their own feces for a day. Puddles of urine have pooled around the wheels of some patients’ stretchers. Nurses are out sick; the remaining ones are coping the best they can. I have gotten texts from colleagues about the chaos here, but I thought that those were just about one bad day, that they had already gone through the worst.
Another doctor notices the bewilderment on my face and comes over. “There are people literally dying of hypoxia in the hallways,” he says, “and there’s empty space with oxygen dispensers on the wall and no one using them.” What is he talking about? Isn’t the hospital full? He suggests that I take a walk down the hall and make a right, less than 100 yards away.
I swipe open the unit, which usually serves as a postoperative area, with my ID. I see a room about half the size of the E.R. It’s a Sunday, a slow day usually, but still, there’s only one patient, who’s being tended to by a nursing assistant. A nurse hovers nearby. I track the green oxygen dispensers on the walls, these fountains of life that my patients gravely need. I go upstairs to one of the regular floors. It’s calm and quiet. Unlike in the E.R., where I dodge patients, colleagues and stretchers to get around — forget six feet of separation; we’re not able to maintain six inches — here the hallways are free and unobstructed. It’s just a regular hospital floor, but the space feels glorious, luxurious.

I may think joggers are idiots with their silly striped spandex outfits, jarring their bones on city concrete while breathing carbon monoxide, but I'll defend their right to make fools of themselves... as long as they wear N-95 face masks and blue latex gloves.

Nevermind accurate standards, different countries and even areas within countries have different reporting standards. I am very curious if there is any meaningful increase in the number of deaths this year, but that remains to be seen.

Nice article. But in relation to my previous point, are you suggesting that the media are deliberately using ambiguous terms so that they can later claim that the number of deaths caused by COVID-19 was actually pretty small? I'm not sure I follow. EDIT: this is obviously quite a US-centric article. I would claim that the type of (extreme?) capitalism encountered in the US leads to a less caring society, when compared to the more social-capitalism encountered in western Europe (where the state directs more funds to welfare). But that's a bit tangental... EDIT 2: more claims of deaths 'linked to' COVID but not necessarily 'caused by' it: https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/health-52278825 Le states, she is socialist. Just like the entire rest of the west.

You seem to be easily distracted into irrelevancy.
Can you ride off that bamboo cane for a sec? Where is the sweet and attempting to be relevant Cryptotourist? Did such a persona ever exist, or was that online persona merely acting and playing around until he could muster enough merits to appear genuine and relevant?, and then he would devolve into nonsensical and irrelevant distracting attempts? Hopefully, at some point, you can grow the fuck up and try to get back to relevance (to the extent that I imagined you to have had been capable of such) rather than ongoingly childish, misleading presentations, ad hominem attacks and fact-denying behaviors.
Bla, bla, bla, look at me, I write great, I'm sooo smart - that I'm stupid. But I'll answer your stupid question JJG: No. I'll stop behaving childish, when you develop a soul.

You seem to be easily distracted into irrelevancy.
Can you ride off that bamboo cane for a sec? You mean that I am combating against you? hardly. I had been giving you lots of benefits of the doubt for a quite a long time, and you have seemingly been becoming increasingly worse in your inabilities to control yourself. I am getting a sense that you are NOT really trying to make meaningful contributions, even though I had witnessed what I had thought to have been some meaningful contributions from you in the past. Maybe I was mistaken... but that's my current memory of the matter without doing too much research... In any event, I have no reason for vengeance or anything like that. Where is the sweet and attempting to be relevant Cryptotourist? Did such a persona ever exist, or was that online persona merely acting and playing around until he could muster enough merits to appear genuine and relevant?, and then he would devolve into nonsensical and irrelevant distracting attempts? Bla, bla, bla, look at me, I write great, I'm sooo smart - that I'm stupid. But I'll answer your stupid question JJG: No. I'll stop behaving childish, when you develop a soul. Well, if you are suggesting that I am not sympathetic enough, then I wonder. If you are trying to suggest that you are more human than me, then maybe you are correct? You do get quite a bit emotional on a fairly regular basis, so I don't have many doubts about your likelihood to being human, but I still wonder about your assertion that I need to be more human than I already am. .. .and I doubt that I need to divert into any self-analysis in regards to your suppositions in regards to my deficiencies as you allege them to be. Furthermore, you are coming off as a bit troll threatening in that you would make your behavior contingent upon my changing my behavior... so fuck off with trying to suggest that I need to change in order for you to change. That is almost pure ridiculous, and outside of anything that I would be willing to agree to anyhow.... at least not publicly. Now, if you send me a PM on the topic, I might consider it..... hahahahaha Psych..... I am not inviting you to any PMs... Get a life or perhaps even better... grow the fuck up.

Going back to normal is an exceptionally bad idea: Normal is what got us here. Overreaction got us here. I personally am impressed at how quickly whomever whoever is behind all of this shut down the world so quickly and so easily.
