Epic takedown of Peter Schiff and why bitcoin is better than gold. (For the record, I hold both)

https://tomluongo.me/2020/11/20/market-friday-bitcoin-apotheosis-gold-bugs/

Quote
The good news is, given the chaos around the corner, there’s still plenty of upside left. Except for Peter Schiff, he’ll die on this hill unfortunately, just like his dad died in jail over denying the validity of the income tax.

At least his dad’s was a noble goal.

Guys.

My body is feeling pretty fucking ready right about now.
I still feel some sorrow that you sold so low.

why? if he has more coin and later the price goes stratospheric it makes no real difference what the price was that he just sold at in the end. if you sold corn at whatever price and now have enough fiat (or whatever) for your immediate plans, plus spare corn for later, its future value increase will surely suffice.

unless youre just a pure greed kinda guy. nothing wrong with that i guess but its not my gig.

Bob seems to have played the matter pretty well and to his particular objectives.

Surely he was anxious since about $13k or so, but he waited it out until $16,250.. and of course he ended up getting a bit of a better premium than he might have otherwise gotten by waiting and stressing out if the BTC price was going to go up or not...

Of course, it is difficult to know that BTC prices would go UP so much (another 16-17%), after his sale from just a few days ago, but seems totally reasonable, and from the way he is talking it seems to even have been less than half of his stash that he sold... We do not really know too many specifics, even though several of us have some ideas - which may not necessary to speculate further upon.

Each of us, also, should be able to weigh for ourselves how much BTC to keep in our portfolios, and it seems that if a lot of the traditional asset sides are covered, then BTC ends up serving as a kind of bonus - which seems to be how Bob is considering his remaining BTC stash.. .. of course, he prefers the BTC price to go up from here, but if BTC ends up taking a break in its going UPpity, he has a lot of his financial matters in place for a decent amount of time into the future..

Some of us might have harder times relating to Bob if we feel that we are more in an accumulation phase, and we feel that we do not have enough coins.. I am personally not in that stage.. but at the same time, sometimes, I personally consider that it might be good to have some kind of target or plan.. such as a ranch.. NOT that I am going to do a ranch exactly, but something like that could well be money well spent... not saying better than hookers, lambo and blow.. but within a sphere of acceptable subjective preferences, that's for sure.

Here I am in the Wall Observer thread in November 2020, when for the first time in quite a while, it seems there's some significant Walls to Observe.

Lots of folks wanting to cash in now that we're near ATHs again it seems ^_^

Completely understandable. People that bought near the top of the last rally are finally in the green again, so they might be looking to get off the roller-coaster.

My ex wife bought near the ATH a few years ago due to FOMO.  I'm sure she has long since forgot about her coins.  I've been contemplating if I should tell her to check (resulting in instant selling) or do her a favor and not mention anything to her...

#MoralDelema

Surely sounds like an outlier case to buy and to completely ignore for nearly 3 years.

We are talking about someone who loses about one phone a year and can't find her car in a parking lot during the day time...

Fair enough.   haHAHAHAHA

I have historically been attracted to ditzies, too.    They can sometimes be fun.. especially in the beginning of the relationship.

The wait to invest again is getting long, the last time I visited the thread we were at 16K, now 18,700 with a beautiful 1K green dildo we will break ATH, not even in my wildest dreams I expected these prices.

I see that we still have shitcoin season hopium intermingling with us in these here parts, I see....  Maybe shows where some of your bitcoin stash may have gone, Wekkel...   My condolences for your losses.  If not for your finances, at minimum for your demonstration of (and no fears to show it) ongoing fuzzy thinkenings... still waiting for the flippening, right?

To the contrary: a good altcoin strategy made my BTC stash go 3x. I don’t let opportunities go wasted.

Yeah... but you said that your budget was not coming until January.

Have you changed your mind about your budget?

Well, I must applaud you for not sharing too much about the details of such here.    Wink

It remains the same, perhaps the construction of the previous comment is not clear enough.
Until January I still do not have an exact date, almost certainly I will have 4K available, thanks for your comment to reinvest the fresh money. Wink

I wonder how Jorge Stolfi is feeling atm? Must suck being around bitcoin really early & not taking advantage of that to become rich, Professor NOCOINER!

i stumbled across his twitter feed a few days ago. same old shitty arguments. he is claiming bitcoin is a ponzi. since the bitcoin community is relatively small compared to the rest of the world, guys like stolfi think there is something to gain in publicly hating bitcoin. since there is a big mass of no-coiners and lots of ignorant idiots in that group (as in any group) he gets plenty of attention.

what the stolfis don't get is the fact that bitcoiners are able to monetize their conviction, their attitude and gain wealth, while the critics may get attention and applause but in the end you can't monetize applause in the same way than you can the best financial invention of the millennia.

stolfi has fun staying poor.  Cheesy

That's not news though. The fact we are Bitcoiners means that we are degenerates. You know the drugs, money laundering, the scams, assassins, etc. All that stuff the media and others say we do.

Not only are we degenerates, we are evil, born in the pits of hell probably.
