BTW (OT), I'm a big fan of Dark Mode, and have been using Dark Reader for sometime, in WO and in many other sites. Actually discovered it from a post here in WO. I read (here in WO too) that this may be a security threat due to leaking site data, etc. Just visited Dark Reader's official site, and noticed that it's an open-source project, and very highly respected, which put my mind at rest somewhat... What do you guys think? Would you consider Dark Reader a security threat. Any known cases? Or should we start using Tor on a Linux Live DVD for all things Bitcoin? Bitcoin's ever rising value makes us reconsider certain approaches to the way we do things... I suppose this is fairly paranoid. But I have come to believe that there will ALWAYS be something about my internet connected computers and phones that is a security threat. I have basically given up on keeping these things secure. Therefore hardware wallets and disconnected old laptops running Tails. That said... I am an IT person. The latter is not a trivial undertaking to do correctly. And i figure many here could handle it... but we are elite in that regard. Security and UX is STILL bitcoin's #1 and other #1 Achilles heel. |

I was referring to various shorter trolls who came by arguing and persuading us that having some successful high leverage short deal (probably in the 100$ area) is way more profitable compared to holding. You can find some of them in the pages preceding my post. I wonder what happened to those trolls. I can't see any of them now.  |

Hope I won't ever get the $5 wrench treatment! |

But yeah, in general I would assume browser extensions are a fairly ripe for security issues. The open source part is good, but if you do not review the code then you are trusting SOMEONE does. I wonder if there is just a more secure browser to use for whatever... I mean yeah, there's Tor (if that is actually secure?). But more about the exe architecture.. like maybe the Duckduckgo browser? |

I've always just used Tor Browser for most things Bitcoin. I'll need to look into Dark Reader but in my mind, it's probably something as simple as a CSS code to turn light into dark. (font colors and stuff like that.) |

Good morning Bitcoinland.
Seems we finally had a wee bit of a real correction... currently $17830USD/$23311CAD (Bitcoinaverage).
Needless to say, it didn't last long. It did however point out the resistance at $18k.
It also provides a consolidation opportunity to let us catch our breath and not let this rally run away with itself, burn out and crash.
A new ATH by the new year would be nice but let's wait until next autumn (N. hemisphere) before we go parabolic.
Slow and steady wins the race.

Maybe we should make a list of things we bought with BTC and how much they now cost... What's sad is that most of those things are not worth any more now than they did when we bought them. So, we effectively gave something which was (still is, and very likely will be) hugely appreciating in value, to obtain something that has kept (and most likely lost) its value. Not saying we should indefinitely HoDL. But wasting those precious sats when we can have what we want with our fiat income? Not so sure it's a wise move... tl;dr: HoDL (for now). Don't waste BTC for a cup of coffee. It's meant for BIGGER things! |
