Happy to be under the group of people who does understand this  Cool Grin

Now that there are bitcoin-based NFTs, I'm willing to entertain the idea of them having some valid use cases. Digital collectibles, souvenirs, in-game items, etc., are the obvious cases. But real-world items too, anything with a serial number could have its ownership connected to an NFT. Guns, cars, real estate, stock market certificates, etc.

If I have legal copyright to a personal IP or work, and I sell you the NFT to that IP or work but do not transfer the copyright over to you, good luck trying to prove in a court of law that you truly own it and I do not (news flash: you will lose).

This is reality. NFTs have revolutionized absolutely nothing.

Sorry to put it so bluntly, but in this case I feel like blunt is the only way to get the point across.

Bitcoin is revolutionizing the world.

This we can agree on.  Smiley

Talk about smart strategy?

Wondering do Taliban know about Bitcoin? and how would they take it?

A quick googling reveals some exchanges like localbitcoins, paxful, binance and OKCoin do operate with afghanis.

There are about 7 bitcoin sellers registered on paxful + only one seller and buyer on localbitcoins also.

A facebook page name "Bitcoin Afghanistan" has 1500 likes and have some posts about Bitcoin. Also there are couple of youtubers explaining bitcoin in Afghani languages (Pashto and Persian) but I guess these youtubers are from Pakistan creating videos for Afghani people.

More interestingly there is one post here on bitcointalk about "Afghanistan's first bitcoin meetup" which dates back to July 18, 2013. So there must be strong hodlers i suspect.

Anyway irrespective of Taliban, there are about 40 million people living in Afghanistan and that ranks Afghanistan on 37th in world population index. These people can't be ignored if El Salvador can adopted Bitcoin why no Afghanistan?

Meanwhile seeing pics and videos of Taliban taking over and flying mi-17 helicopters and getting hands on US Army's "leftover" Black Hawks, it seems they are ok with "Technology" so far.

A nice advice for all those who want to invest in bitcoin that you won't get rich overnight as no one has ever become in most cases but you need to think about safeguarding your future like you take insurance policies and plans for your kids and old age.So it is better not to regret at that time making same false and lame excuses.Be part of it now.
Good luck with that, this exchange among two of the richest persons in the planet supposedly happened and illustrates why this is not common at all.

Quote
Bezos: “...your investment thesis is so simple. You’re the second richest guy in the world, and it’s so simple. Why doesn’t everyone just copy you?”

Buffet: “Because no one wants to get rich slow.”
https://www.beingguru.com/2019/05/warren-buffett-nobody-wants-to-get-rich-slow/

And that is the main problem, most newbie investors, traders, gamblers or whatever we like to call them are not looking at the long term, they want to become rich and they want this to happen now, so they look at bitcoin and even the growth of bitcoin seems small to them, so what they do? They decide to invest in shitcoins and have a wild ride while losing money instead of choosing the easier and boring path of buying bitcoin and just hodl it no matter what.

Interesting how the sheeple sit on the sidelines watching bitcoin do a 5X since pre-Covid, and do nothing, while also watching inflation reek havoc on the food/goods/services that they buy daily during the same timeframe and feel no way to escape it.

A heat pump water heater never made sense to me: Because it pulls the heat from the surrounding air it makes the air in that room cooler. Which the main heat system has to re-warm up. So it's just making your main house heating system work harder, you might as well just power your heater with gas or electricity anyway.

A house heat pump pulls the heat in from outside, so is more efficient than a straight electric heater (there is almost always heat outside even when cold). Geothermal makes optimal sense as it pulls the heat from the ground around your home which is warm-ish even when it's truly cold.

But I don't see the logic in a heat pump water heater. Even if you exhaust the cold air outside it still pulls inside air through it which creates a vacuum in the house which just pulls air in from the outside (which is um... cold). So wut....

I don't think "sheeple" sit on no money. They poor man! Cheesy Cheesy

The most probable thing is that "sheeple"  are neck deep in debt and are notorious when it comes to notions of financial education. Smiley  Roll Eyes  Roll Eyes

I can see why pioneers would suffer a lot in other sectors but did they suffer with Bitcoin?

I mean early early pioneers because I think we are still pioneers atm. I think the real earlier pioneers are those that were involved in Bitcoin from the start up to about 2012. 2013 is when Bitcoin started to get noticed by different people because at the start it was mainly computer geeks that were interested in the currency. By 2015 I think we saw more different people becoming interested in Bitcoin. 2017 brought in the crowd who thought every ICO was the next big thing and now that we are in 2021 I think we have a very diverse amount of people invested in Bitcoin.

How many people ever really benefit from the obvious multipliers we are fortunate enough to see this time?  In the future many, many, many will say, I should have seen it all along it is so obvious now.

But this has astonished me the entire time.

And I know I am not the only one who has been saying to many of his friends and even acquaintances that Bitcoin is going to change the world, and it has a long way to go (including the obligatory risk assessment, even catastrophic risks).

And the responses all fall into a predictable range:

It's a bubble/tulips.
It's the MySpace of crypto.
It's too late.
It will be made illegal.

And the contrarian in me comforts myself because if it were so obvious to everyone I would not have been afforded the extraordinary chance I have had.

But it is just as hard to convince someone that there is still, today, a chance to get in early.

I have boiled it down to this:

Quote from: My Pitch
If Bitcoin continues to survive, and only takes an amount of value held in, for example, gold, we still have a 10x left  That's the minimum.  Why would you not hedge the possibility by at least downloading the Cash App, or Strike and just put 0.5% of your savings in it?  It's still a binary bet!

That's my current pitch.  I think it works about 3% of the time.

The mind boggles.

China proved that if Bitcoin is made illegal it will have little affect of the usage.
