Morning WOers.

Cheesy post:

Listening to Scorpions and feeling euphoric (I don't know exactly why). Great songs. I feel that something important was lost in the passage of time from their era to ours. All those hi-tech gear we now have, and yet current songs somehow lack that something... Or maybe it's just me being a Gen X old man.

Fuck that pussy shit, Here ya go!

Bearish if we don’t hit atleast $49k..

That's quite a random number.  Or is it?

Seems that you have picked such random number out of your a** that is just short of where we have already gotten within the past 5 hours, which is $48,500.  So you asserted that if we do not make it up to your random number, then the market is bearish - which comes off as nearly pure gibberish.

Seems that the more realistic approach would contain more zoomed-outedness to it.

but yeah..... we had a price correction down to $28,600 in June/July after our $64,895 top in April.

We had a recovery that brought us back up to $53k in early September

And then a crash back down to $39,573 in the past 10 days....

so far we have made it back to $48,500 in the past 5 hours

that is from $44k to $48,500 in the past 24 hours, but within the past 5 hours, we have not been able to get above $48,500... Is there anything to see here, yet?  I am having my doubts.

Seems too soon to call whether the UPpity would be done yet or not.. and if there were to be any kind of urgent need to reach $49k when we have already reached $48.5k, no?

Seems to me that we need a bit more data before coming to any kind of conclusion regarding where we are at and what it means - beyond that there are ongoing UPpity price pressures, and if you believe that we are revisiting $39k, that could be the case, and I am not even sure if that would be bearish, if it were to happen.. but let's see.. let's see.. The weekend is critical.tm

I can very quickly - through the back of my head - make a list with genuine people/accounts in here too.
As for the rest, they have an agenda & vested interests - apart from our common denominator BTC.
To be continued.

Cry more, you little bitch.

Bob he is a lovely guy.

Yes, deep deep deep on the inside, he is lovely so long as he gets his pacifier and no one gives him a keyboard - or would it be an ipad?

The last little peak was just shy of 49..
I want to see this peak break a touch higher than the last peak to feel bullish..
Putting up a lower high feels bearish..
Pretty simple really..

Scientific? No..
But I have been watching these charts for a very long time and feel decently confident in my intuition..

Do I mean end of the halving bull run? No..
Just that we aren’t done with the bearishness since the last high to 52 ish..

I want/need Bitcoin to moon just as much as anyone else here..

I hope people are right about it dragging on another 6 months or so instead of peaking within 2021..
I would really rather not sell anything more within this year, but I do plan on taking a little off the top to use some of it and hopefully buy back lower with the rest..
Probably with about 20%, and I’m targeting north of $200k..

Come on boys, what's up with all the crap? You're giving the finger to each other without taking the time to even breathe. Get a room.
Better yet, don't look at the finger. Look at the moon  Wink
That can be a poem:
You're giving the finger,
Get a room.
Don't look at the finger,
Look at the moon!

Love this place Smiley It's good to have taken a break to regain some perspective.

TBH, gaining the mindset of using Ignore to curate my experience - optimizing for time - is suiting me quite well.

C'est la vie.

I have no idea what this fox cycling club avatar stuff is all about, but I'm finding I'm needing to mute people is starting to correspond to the prevalence of foxes or cycling, or some variation thereof.

A strange form of dubious hostility vs being open to coincidental possibilities. Inverse Toxic Bitcoin Maximalism if you will. A rejection of information until independent verification - something I am slowly attempting to do myself with regards to that thread, and tend to be open to the possibility we are dealing with "the real deal".

FWIW, suchmoon being the latest addition to my curation experience. Not sure what their deal is. Oh well.

Anyway, off to do stuff in meatspace.

I hate it but I DID sell some Bitcoin recently..
I made some Bitcoin recently that I will have to pay taxes on..
It was keeping me up at night that if by the off chance Bitcoin dumps then I would be stuck paying taxes on its price when I acquired it, no matter it’s current price..
So basically by the off chance Bitcoin really took a fall, I could be stuck paying more taxes than what the coin was worth at all, and that could REALLY hurt me..
So, I played it safe and sold just enough to cover what taxes I’ll have to pay, which is making me sleep much more comfy..

When all you have is BTC sometimes you have to sell to pay for things.

What is needed in every country is a service that allows you to pay your taxes in bitcoin and allows for easy conversion of government spending into bitcoin.

That way the governments will be the final holdouts of the legacy currencies printing and defacing it as much as they want while the rest of the economy can be 100% bitcoin.

Apparently, wash sale rules do not apply to bitcoin YET (there are rumblings that this would change in 2022).
Therefore, if someone had a profitable trade, but now in a trade that is in minus, he/she can quickly sell and a second later re-buy, claim the loss and STILL have the exact same number of bitcoins...could be an interesting proposition. The only caveat is that I don't know if Turbotax software "knows" that bitcoin doesn't have a wash sell rule.

Not a financial advice, just an observation

Very nice, thanks.
Actually, if we think of the Amazon example: it had a 95% draw-down in the first cycle, then something like 70-80%, then 50%, now even less in each "bear".
The only surprising part for me was that bitcoin went down 84% in the last cycle. I expected the downs to progressively decrease in %, and they did, but very, very slowly from 94-95% to 85-87% to 84%. This one has got to be different if we would not have a huge spike up first.

Don't think I've attacked her in this thread but I can probably suggest a few reasons:

* No one likes a person who basically says: "I know it all and you old farts are all to blame for all problems"
* She was photographed at home with a chair that costs $10,000. She clearly comes from the elite herself and is held up as a poster child.
* She has a large CO2 footprint with all the travelling she does (like many people who say we all supposedly pollute too much - see even more crazy hypocrites like Lewis Hamilton)
* She came out this week and "blah blah-ed" the UK governments' attempts at accelerating dropping emissions asap.
In the UK we are already going to be forced to buy electric cars within the next 10 years (if you want a new car at least). I think that is quite a fast turn around. There is actually no concrete plan that I've seen to provide the UK with enough electricity for that. Households will almost double their electricity usage by charging an EV at home. Unless many more of us will all have solar panels (the only way I think this will be possible in the short term) this could be a big problem and make electricity rather expensive (which it is already becoming without mass EV adoption).

I can say from experience some green solutions have only been scams in the past and do not provide a smaller CO2 footprint, but in fact larger and just makes things worse for the planet and households. I have a solar panel for water heating which does fuck all in the UK. For electricity themselves they can be useful from what I gather as they don't require sunlight directly.

So yeah I can see why some people think "bore off, things are happening quickly already" about this Thunberg woman.

I'm of the opinion that innovation such as EVs themselves (the excitement of fast acceleration and lack of moving parts etc) or Bitcoin can help provide a reduction in CO2 output.
But it still remains to be seen whether all the lithium mining needed for batteries will actually be such a great thing or just cause more problems long term.

We will still need tonnes of oil, rubber and other resources regardless of not consuming petrol or gas at home.

Just shouting through a megaphone is kind of a lazy approach to try to fix big problems I think.

Seriously? This is why: all talk, no background, no viable solutions (or none at all). Just like most of the other libtards somewhere between GenZ and Millennial age.

Until the world starts going after China for being the biggest polluter in the world and building more and more coal-fired power plants every single year, then what all the little piss ass eco things that all the other countries combined do would barely put a dent in what China is dishing out pollution-wise.

I'm more of the First Church of Laurens Hammond, and a huge fan of Don Leslie, for rotating speakers. I have three Hammond organs and two Leslies.

Forgive me for I have sinned.

After my beloved L-100 died, I decided to get something a little more portable. Remember I'm a bassist, first and foremost. The pedals feel and play just like the ones on the L-100.

I tried being a keyboardist back in the 1960s but I could never achieve right/left hand independence so I couldn't be a competent bass player and treble player at the same time. I had to pick one or the other. After having experienced the power of bass, there was no way I was going back to being a mere treble player despite having started on guitar.

After retiring from a relatively long and profitable career as a bass guitarist playing the club circuit, I tried sitting down at an L-100 my friend was trying to sell, I was stunned. While I still had no right-left hand independence. I had no problem with right hand left foot independence. My left hand went into autopilot mode, playing whatever chords my right hand and left foot were thinking.

Now I have fun being a one man band. The only instrumentalists I'll play with are live drummers.
