An interesting opinion...out of the mainstream, but would be super cool if it happens.

I'm trying to understand how/why the price is suppressed to it's current levels. Don't think it's UKR/RUS or stonks related.

Something doesn't feel natural to me about all this.

Strange vibes kinda deal.

Either way, HODLing. Wouldn't dream of selling at these levels.

Back to watching this stupid fucking thing about to dip into the $36k's... Goddamnit...

Exactly. I wonder how BCH/BSV holders feel now...

I'm fine but I think those who dumped BTC for BCH may not be feeling so good. Anyone holding BSV for any reason other than it's more trouble than it's worth to get rid of is delusional anyway.

This massive downward pressure is something else.

Gut feeling indicates possible bigtime recovery to new ATH's by late March/Apr.

Crossing fingers.

An interesting opinion...out of the mainstream, but would be super cool if it happens.

Basically the same thing I said in a much more loquacious post...

I think we see a capitulation event and then we head up.

Way up.

Thank President Biden for crucifying Bitcoin.  He will legitimize it on a level we can only dream of.

Or maybe I've been dabbling in my D8 ticture too much?

I was wrong, we need crypto
Quote
I still can't believe that this is the protest that would prove every Bitcoin crank a prophet. And for me to have to slice a piece of humble pie, and admit that I was wrong on crypto's fundamental necessity in Western democracies.
The creator of Ruby on Rails and a well-known bear of bitcoin since it was conceived back in 2010 had just put out a statement like this.
To turn a hater of all these years into a believer is what was good to come out of all this mess in Canada with the protestors vs their government.

Even this crypto youtuber discussed about how the Canadian legal system tried and failed to make a cold wallet provider freeze these accounts just about an hour ago on his rather popular channel with over 5600 watching when it went live:

I don’t think Russia are going to invade Ukraine.

To my understanding, Russia will not be invading Ukraine, because they would not be able to survive the trade sanctions levied against them, as a result.

They have immunity to all trade sanctions. Russia doesn't want to feed 40 million people of a bankrupted country like Ukraine. Let Anglo-Americans and their EU satellites feed them. Russia will just wait till West Ponzi collapses in full.

Holodomor
Famine

Quote
From famine to extermination
Between 1931 and 1934 at least 5 million people perished of hunger all across the U.S.S.R. Among them, according to a study conducted by a team of Ukrainian demographers, were at least 3.9 million Ukrainians.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Holodomor

Interesting how you choose to concentrate on famine in Ukraine but totally disregard loss of life in other Soviet republics. Like loss of 38% - 42% of all of Kazakhs. Think context matters, no?

Quote
1.5 million people died in Soviet Kazakhstan, then part of the Russian Socialist Federative Soviet Republic in the Soviet Union, of whom 1.3 million were ethnic Kazakhs
Quote
An estimated 38[7] to 42[11] percent of all Kazakhs died, the highest percentage of any ethnic group killed by the Soviet famine of 1932–1933.
Quote
The famine began in winter 1930, a full year before the other famine in Ukraine, termed the Holodomor
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kazakh_famine_of_1931%E2%80%931933

And overall https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Soviet_famine_of_1932%E2%80%931933

Side note, the architect of this, Joseph Stalin was from Georgia

Edit: And if were concentrating on absolute numbers, 10yrs prior, Russian famine of 1921–1922

Quote
This famine killed an estimated 5 million people, primarily affecting the Volga and Ural River regions
Quote
Aid from outside Soviet Russia was initially rejected...Lenin refused this as interference in Russian internal affairs.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Russian_famine_of_1921%E2%80%931922

And then 10yrs later there was Soviet famine of 1946–1947
Quote
900,000 (Ó Gráda, 2019)[2] with 500,000 deaths in the RSFSR and the BSSR, 200,000 in the UkSSR and 100,000 in the MSSR.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Soviet_famine_of_1946%E2%80%931947

tons of suffering all over

All good things to those who wait

After yesterday's Pussin decision to invade Ukraine and get severe sanctions from the world, I expected a bigger dump. Soon the russians won't be able to transfer fiat outside russia, so what is the point in selling their bitcoins? I still think that the downard action in the last months is not related to any news, just the usual margin trade on Binance. Although on all other exchanges there is a sharp outflow trend in the last 2 years, Binance is different. It is not used by normal investors to buy and withdraw bitcoins to a HW. It is used mainly by small fish, trying to double their monthly wages with high leverage longs. The result is that they continue to lose all in a domino effect liquidations, which causes the price to plummet. The question is for how long these idiots will continue to harm themselves and delay the next big bull run. Nobody can predict that, so it is best to continue the DCA strategy. It always prevails the short term roller coaster. It is better to buy regularly and have ready to invest fiat, no matter how low the price goes, than to wait with the hope of timing the bottom.

You're too confident over the future sanctions - if any. The west needs resources from Russia, hence the money will continue to flow.
America and middle east cannot give the quantities of gas Europe needs and probably cannot fight Russia's prices either.
All the western countries' noise was for nothing.

I guess that now some political things will be negotiated, the west will lower the tone, Russia will lower the prices and everybody will go back to sleep. Well, all excepting the newly occupied ones.

It will really depend on what happens exactly. If it's only more Russian troops in already Russian controlled areas (yes, because there are "rebels", but there were already Russians with no previous connexion to Ukraine there), then the sanctions will probably be limited to the people involved and other token things.

If there are advances to take control of the 2 oblasts fully, that means a fighting war, shells and missiles flying, soldiers killed on both sides by the dozens/hundreds, then "weak sanctions" won't cut it.

I did not.  Unless people see the word INVASION big on the news channel, they will not take it for granted.  It is not known as an official war yet, so the downward trend will continue until it is directly confirmed or denied that Russia is invading Ukraine by the news.  This is how I take it.  I doubt a new virus strain was able to plummet the markets but a Russian invasion will not.

I can not call them severe sanctions.  So far, Russia seems to be happy with what they got.
