The USA must be really pleased to have Joe Biden as president.
…. Blah blah blah….
Jeezus dude, you sure like to come in here and piss and moan about the politics of countries you don’t live in. When are you gonna whinge and whine about Boris? Ain’t he a bit more local in your neighborhood?

Ain’t he a bit more local in your neighborhood? True. I see things pretty much connected to trying to undermine BTC and keeping the sheep on the same fiat debt path whether it's through politics, the military industrial complex or the media that supports / enables these. Boris has a lot of support from libertarians over here in the UK, without them he would be gone. It's no surprise he lifted Covid measures quicker than in other places, though some may see it as a distraction from the party stuff, which I can appreciate. I still think these rules would have been removed at about the same pace as they are now. But sure, I whine a lot here. I know. Actually private things have been looking up quite a bit despite the BTC dumps, so this is not a reflection of what is going on in my own life.

But sure, I whine a lot here. I know.
You'll notice that the communist libtards here on WO don't whine about anything, because they actually like and agree with where things in the world are heading. The ol' "Well if it doesn't affect me personally, then it doesn't exist so there is no problem" defense. And yet they embrace Bitcoin. 🤷 🤦

#LNMETA
Trying something a little bit different this time around. Decided I'm not out of the game just yet, after making some under-the-hook tweaks to LND, and rethinking my strategy, of how I can reasonably contribute to the Lightning Network, with a minimum amount of stress (read: way fewer channels, higher default fees, maximum girth)
More much much later. This is going to be a longer-term experiment.

I don't know if I can accuse someone of being a communist libtard, I don't know people well enough here. But you raise a good point. Just the Ukraine thing. At the moment why should anyone care who is not nearby? Which is why we are probably seeing quite weak responses. But later on.... What is they said in the news today, 5 million refugees the USA is expecting? I don't see them wanting to move to only adjacent neighbours. Many Ukrainians in IT have been employed by western companies already and speak English pretty well. That leaves exactly two main English speaking countries in my mind where many of them will want to head if old Vlad moves further west or even just threatens the western side of Ukraine which will be more easy with the two small annexed regions now. I would have thought that will potentially affect more than just me indeed. Also, now that I think about it. China and the whole possibly invading Taiwan thing whilst Vlad distracts. Isn't that 2/3s of the Micro chip market or something?

I would have thought that will potentially affect more than just me indeed. It is impossible to imagine a greater absurdity ... since the cost of Emigration to one of the EU countries, not to mention the United States for a simple Ukrainian family in modern realities, can cost an unbearable amount. Firstly, the average Ukrainian family spends and earns about $500 a month, and housing during emigration is the main expense item. Even with a semi-annual budget in reserve, an ordinary Ukrainian family will not be able to afford such a move. I'm not even talking about food, mobile communications, transport and medicine (everything that is much more expensive than in Ukraine). So, according to the above, I can say with confidence that only 1% of Ukrainians can afford to emigrate without problems, so you personally will not be affected by the conflict in Ukraine.

I try to whine about neither communist libtards nor fascist conservatards, both of whom I hate equally.

however I would love to see how ETH performed vs BTC in the same time period.

Seems to me that some community efforts might be helpful. I was thinking of some raunchy expression.. but I am going to refrain.I would love to see how ETH performed vs BTC in the same time period.
21.08.2017 ETH/BTC 0,074 22.02.2022 ETH/BTC 0,069 ETH lost value compared to BTC. What about the impending flippening in the midst? What about holding your value in some piece of shit that could be rug pulled or to have exposure to vulnerabilities of the 10k plus scams attached? There's gotta be some value considered in that, so in some sense, it would not even matter if such piece of crap smoke and mirrors phoney baloney had actually outperformed BTC if you are holding something that is filled with so many vulnerabilities. Palpable tension words about shitirium wait for the batslap

The frequency with which these labels - communism and fascism - get thrown around is absurd. It's as if anyone slightly left of centre gets slammed as a "communist"; anyone slightly right of centre gets slammed as a "fascist". This polarisation is potentially as dangerous as the ideologies concerned. Those terms are misunderstood, misused and mostly inaccurate these days in any case.
I quit this thread for a long time many years back when it was frequented by some racist asshole (was it Roach? Can't remember) who accused everyone and everything of being a zionist or a communist. Lots of Nazi references too (or was it the other way round? It doesn't really matter). Someone here made a very good point at that time, that the words "nazi", "fascist" and "communist" are used far more selectively and carefully in Europe, where there is a societal memory of the devastation caused by both ideologies. The flippancy with which these terms are now used elsewhere is a reflection of the lack of first-hand experience of these ideologies. And a reflection on lazy and immature thought processes.
Especially in US where, for example, the word "socialist" is thrown around with apparently no recognition of its true definition. And I now see Trudeau being called a fascist by some and a communist by others.
Those who think Trudeau is a communist will be in for a rude awakening if a real communist ever comes to power and starts asking them questions.

OT: perhaps bitcoin fixes this.

Even the extreme left wing (NDP) and the extreme right wing (Tories) are neither communist nor fascist. Trudeau and his Liberal Party are midde-of-the road. It's hard to be a dictator with a minority government.
