Not going to lie, falling from $109,000 to $78,000 was rather unsettling, for me at least. I know we’ve HODLED through similar and even worse corrections in previous bull markets, percentage wise. But for me, it feels a lot worse when you’re watching your net worth dump by so much money. The money involved now is so much more than it was when our coins were losing $40 each per day or something at the same % dip as we saw from $109,000 to $78,000.

I am hopeful that we don’t go below $80,000 again in this bull run now. As some have said already, March 7th could be just what we need to catapult us towards the next big leg up. As Trump’s Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick said -

“The President definitely thinks that there’s a Bitcoin strategic reserve,” Secretary Lutnick told The Pavlovic Today. “Now there will be the question of, how do we handle the other cryptocurrencies? And I think the model is going to be announced on Friday when we do that.”

“A Bitcoin strategic reserve is something the President’s interested in. He spoke about it all during the campaign trail, and I think you’re going to see it executed on Friday,” Lutnick said.

“So Bitcoin is one thing, and then the other currencies, the other crypto tokens, I think, will be treated differently—positively, but differently,” he added.

Exactly this! Seeing your net worth (FIAT-wise) decrease drastically feels the worst this cycle. But don't forget 1BTC=1BTC.

But do you really stare at the exchange and feel great that your Bank account suddenly increases in terms of BTC or do you mostly look at the exchange and hallucinate a net worth? A little of both perhaps?

Also regarding to your previous post - is there such a thing as propaganda free media - besides the bitcoin network itself?

When I hallucinate, it's periods like this past week, when BTC drops a huge amount suddenly, recovers just as suddenly, then does the same thing again as if on loop.

So my fantasy has me doing 50x leverage on a few thousand dollars (don't ask me why my brain doesn't just take advantage of the fantasy and just add a few more zeroes to the bankroll) on all these swings then swagger on into a grillhouse and get cheered on by people.

Of course, many of us know that cars are depreciating assets, especially if we buy them brand new, and surely some geographical locations have more options for used cars or a better market for used cars than other geographical locations.

i have a XJ jeep (look it up) that is the most dependable thing ive ever driven. put it in 4WD and if there at least 1 axle with a wheel on that is still attached to the vehicle it it will move.

contrast with my newer jeep where when a wheel sensor went out i lost abs/4wd/traction control. like what if i lost 4wd because a sensor goes out on a trail?? wtf. not that i off road it (the newer one) its a pavement queen. XJ is for tthe fun stuff.

anyway vent mode off.

nowadays i dont buy a vehicle for its longevity, i buy it for the safety tech. the wife and i want a car with the latest safety tech (360 cam, auto anti collision everything). so that means every few years, basically.

bonus points if i can flip it 22 times and walk away though.

watching a wallet drop from $218000 to $156000 hurts.

but

watching eggs go from $1.39 to $10.00
watching lamb roast go from $39 to $67
watching lamb steaks go from $12 to $20

watching a loaf of bread go from $2 to $5

watching my garbage pickup go from $250 a year to $1500 a year.

watching my house insurance go from $500 to $1200
watching my car insurance go from $1000 to $3000 no claims in 30 years

is way more frightening and depressing.

edit prices are from 2019 to 2025

It happens occasionally when someone ask me what kind of profession i do. Will not tell them that i'm a retired Bitcoiner, instead using a lie that i work from home after Covid as a customer service employee for a cyber security company to prevent clients getting scammed/hacked.

Always avoid talking about the company as much as possible while gaslighting scamming methods like fake email, SMS and letters, phishing etc. It works very well..lol.

Only a handfull of peolle know because i can't lie to them like my sister.

Anyway, i like this private life staying under the radar and be humble to prevent horrific situations like this...

I just bought 30 extra large eggs at Costco for CA$7.69 (US$5.35 which works out to US$2.14/dozen).  I'm not allowed to cross the border with them though so I can't help you out that way but maybe with some advice?   The US national average for a dozen eggs is $4.95 so you're just in an unlucky area harder hit by bird influenza policies.   Maybe it would be more cost-effective to convert one of your altcoin mining sheds to a chicken coop and sell eggs instead?  You don't have to let them run free but you can charge more money for them if you do Smiley

Percentage is the  same, and even smaller.

Yeah sure you let your amounts grow, and so if the "percentage drops" are bothering you, then you likely need to be selling more on the way up so that you are not so bothered by it (seemingly overallocated or over-invested in accordance with your own in ability to tolerate that changes.. even I think volatility levels that are not even as high (so far) as they had been in years past).

I am hopeful that we don’t go below $80,000 again in this bull run now. As some have said already, March 7th could be just what we need to catapult us towards the next big leg up. As Trump’s Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick said -

I think that the BTC price is also more inclined for up rather than down, but I am not putting my faith in diptwat politicians to pump my bags.. That would be retarded (or at least close to retarded).  We should not be counting on politicians to do the right thing, even if you consider them to be seeming to be on your side in other ways, politically.

Also regarding to your previous post - is there such a thing as propaganda free media - besides the bitcoin network itself?

Each of us should have the capacity to look at our various allocations that add up to our networth and consider from time to time if we might need to reallocate, or to convert what is "on paper" into some other kind of a form.  Some of us have grown a lot more tolerant of just letting the BTC value fluctuate a lot in terms of its dollar value without getting too worked up about it, yet I think that our abilities to not get too worked up about the fluctuation in our BTC value is because we cash out some portion of it from time to time, and  so we do not necessarily have all of our value in one basket.

I personally think that it is better to be somewhat vigilant of the valuations and to reallocate from time to time rather than getting overly worked up about it.  yeah, sure it  bothers me too when there are BIG drops, but I still cash out  small amounts - somewhere in the ballpark of 2% to 5% for each doubling, so that I am not as bothered by the volatility... and so therefore I have attempted to build in a bit of a buffer that is not 100% foolproof, but the buffer still mitigates  some of the temptations to have extreme emotions on the inevitability of bitcoin's price volatility.  One of the most guaranteed aspects of bitcoin is that it is going to be volatile, and  we cannot really know the short term direction, and since we should know that bitcoin's prices are nearly inevitably volatile, then it seem to make sense to take some precautionary measures to deal with those inevitable dynamics, and the measure end up playing out to be both financial and psychological in their effects.

town ordinance says my shed must be 50 feet from property edge.

my property is 100 by 300 thus my shed can not be 50 feet 🦶 away from my property edge thus no chickens.

Not that I paid 10 bucks for a dozen.

I got 24 large for 8.99 and purchased 72 of them. so 72 for 27. I then purchased 1 gallon of pure egg whites for 20 dollars

I make omelette with four full eggs and 8 oz of the egg whites. it is just about 16 oz of egg.

I use diced pepper, diced onions, brisket, kale, spices , tomato sauce and goat cheese fried in a large pan.

it is really good for a diabetic. It serves six. Cost is about 25 usd including low carb soft taco bread.

you get six maybe eight tacos one is enough for breakfast.

What kills me is my high protein no grain diet gets more costly.

steaks
burgers
lamb
bison
eggs

all are really costly

chicken
pork are still fairly low cost.

Considering to break my no-ignorelist policy, honestly, WTF?!

If propaganda media doesn't tell you something it doesn't mean it doesn't exist. You will understand eventually.... probably...

True that.

In our region (DACH) all commentators and reporters who were unwilling to go with the Zelensky = Angel, Putin = Evil narrative have been removed from their jobs. They still talk about the topic but they are heavily suppressed by the sorts of shadow bans. Same happened during Corona, it's not that there were no "experts" with a different opinion, they were just muted and removed from their jobs too and got labeled as conspiracy nut jobs.
Our western society is now more soviet style than we would like to acknowledge. If you knew the good ole DDR you will feel very at home in modern Europe. Quoting the honorable former under secretary Nuland here: Fuck the EU!

Also there is that pattern of telling everybody in dissent that they are just too dumb and too uneducated to understand the facts - which actually only reveals how poor the understanding of the terms democracy and fact is with these people.

/end of rant from retarded Putler fanboy and antivaxxer tinfoil hat UAP believer conspiracy theorist (I can't really warm for the flat earth thing yet, but I am working on it).
